  • Yes. Just Cause has been incorrectly advertised as the game of the week. The discount won't come off.

How long do you estimate it will take them to correct this............surely it takes a programmer only a few keystrokes.......
  • ma6jrp you could try it but I dont think it will work they will proberbly laugh at you when you have bought the wrong game for the console you bought.

I doubt the discount will kick in but it is a risk.

People buying PSP's and DS's can you put which psp or DS you bought ? it would be nice to know.
I know the Black DS lite and starwars lego GOTW discount was applied yesterday so which ones work and whihc ones dont?

I cant belive it took Tesco so long ot fix the xbox problem it was an easy fix really wasnt it?

my bf just rang HO, they transfer him to Kevin Kelly. But he said he need to find out what is happening and check if my bf is lying, of cos he is not!! And said he will give him a bell later.... finger cross!

Kevin Kelly really said to your boyfriend 'he needs to check if he's lying'?

About what? buying the console, not getting the refund, if the posters were in place??
There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.
  • jordylass lots of stores removed the premium packs I found as the SEL described it as xbox360 console the core pack was xbox360 core system the poster and large sel said xbox360 console and the can get out of it that way as trading standards will let them get away with it I found out. I had a battle with a CS person yesterday and that was her argument that I didnt buy an xbox 360 console as per the poster description.

This is simply not true Little John.

The offer states "buy an Xbox 360 console" .... The Premium pack has the Shelf edge label "Xbox 360 Console" and the Core pack "Xbox 360 Core".

BOTH however SHOULD activate the deal .... AND an "Xbox 360 console" is a description not a title. Had it said "buy the "Xbox 360 Console"" there would be ambiguity .... but as it is written you, as the customer, can only be expected to believe "Xbox console" to mean any xbox games console, even the core pack, which is essentially closer to JUST THE GAMES CONSOLE than the premium pack anyway, which contains the trimmings too (wireless controller, hard drive etc).

And indeed as I have said, the Core and Premium consoles are SET to activate the deal on the system when bought with the correct Game of the week, it is only because the game of the week was incorrectly set up, that you failed to get the £20 discount.

You have been given incorrect information by the store, sadly by taking the refund, you have probably closed the case, sadly.

I have noticed that the PSP and DS GOTW special offer is written like

"Buy a PSP or DS console with the game of the week and get a £10 off".

Quite often the poster will show the games of the week, but not mention getting £10 off when bought with the correct console. What is to stop you buying a PSP with a DS GOTW or a DS with a PSP GOTW. This is still sticking by the offer. There are plenty of people around who may already own the other console and prefer the GOTW for that one.

What do other MSE's think. I haven't tried it, but it may give CS an option to get out of the deal, even though you are sticking by it.

We talked about this some time back, but didnt manage to answer it then either.....I dont think....

I would imagine that they would spot the error, then tell you the game you bought wasnt for that particular console(although as you say, you are still doing as it says)........

but when they came to suggest you didnt buy the correct format of game that goes with the console, and suggest you swap it........how could you explain why you dont want to swap it, and deliberately picked that incorrect format of game for that console.............

That answer sounds a bit complicated....hope you understand my jist.....

Not at all....or should I say not in 3 cases of mine recently

i've just been called back from a store after getting one of these at the weekend claiming there was no overcharge as it was only on the live console (white box) not the core (green box) which I bought, is there any credence to this do you think?

Balderdash, the offers state 360 console & game

    Doesn't stipulate which console ;)

Hmm interesting maybe you could call Salford Trading standards and tell them. I sent TS in to a store over the PSP and cars probelm a month ago and they just warned them to make their posters more specific.

I know they are both xboxes and I knew that the "psp black base pack" is a PSP console but the posters says PSP CONSOLE or XBOX 360 CONSOLE therefore tesco can say that you needed to buy an xbox360 console and you bought the xbox 360 core which isnt an xbox 360 console as per their descriptions. It just so happened that the PSP's with yellow sels did have the word console in the sel description. They are covered by should things go to court or whatever. but we all know that they are still all consoles It all depends how much you want the xbox 360 I would have played just cause and sold it on after I finished it, lineing the pockets of Mr Gates is against my religion. I wanted the premium so I wasnt bothered that is why I took the refund and somthing I wasnt bothered about getting isnt somthing I want to be giving my details to Head office for.

Ths is very true but as far as tesco and legalities go the only item on the shelf described as xbox360 console is the premium pack. so they can say the offer only stands on that item. It sucks but it is a way out for them.
  • Posted this on the incorrect thread so will repost here.

The offer for Tesco Mobiles finished yesterday "Save £10" or something similar(the posters said ends 24th September) Does anyone know if the offer is still on? Adverts are all still up in my local
We took on Mr T and we won:D

Shame it had to end, will have to get free stuff from comps now
