Just had a phone call from kevin asking for my receipt and he wants to verify the purchase and speak to the store about the matter. he said he woudn't give me any false hopes what ever that means

Yeah definately said the discount.. but the psp had gotw but no offer. Hope the game available now!!

My mate went for the PSP + Tekken deal on Thursday. The tenner didn't come off so he thought he was in. CS gave him the 'you can have a tenner off the game' routine and wouldn't budge. Has he missed out. He has the receipts and I thought he may still be able to chase it.

Nope, I had it yesterday. As the discount isn't off a particular item Just "save £10" it is the package psp+game that should be refunded.

is this normal? i have a wierd feeling that they might change the rules around and put it at managers discretion as so many people are ragging it...

what can i say to combat if kevin says that?

Well, there weren't any new rules in place at the time you bought it. They can't verbally invent new rules and apply them retrospectively.

From what I've heard on here I doubt Kevin would argue about it, but just point out the policy poster on the wall of the store, which doesn't include any caveats to exclude R+Rs on any multisave or high value items. It doesn't allow for manager's discretion, either.

Maybe politely mention that you might have to report the policy wording to the Advertising Standards Authority as it's highly misleading if they're going to try to wriggle out on "new rules" they've invented afterwards.

all i can think of is maybe someone has bought one and then lied about a poster being up when there wasn't.

also if its at stores discretion, the store manager i spoke to said even if ho tell them to he will refuse

Good post taxiphil. Yes they might change the rules later (let's hope not!) but they can't do it retrospectively, so there will be a lot more XBOX360, etc, r&r's by the end of the day. hurrah!

And yeah, people need to be careful about pretending posters were up when they weren't. That could land you in court! Just find some other stuff to R&R; there's always plenty of stuff to be had, or so it would seem!

One for the CCTV tapes methinks. And if the tapes don't exist then they can't prove it either way, so the customer should win!!! :beer:
