This was not aimed at you in particular however you obviously think your condition is is a "get out of jail free card" for sloppy posts. At over 2800 posts in less than a year you probably don't have the time to check. Does McDonalds serve spam? Only kidding :)

    some people eh?

  • Interesting that people are having a pop at Mcdonalds, when in reality I doubt they have ever worked there or had any contact with the company. Personally, I'm quite gratefull to them for the part time job I held with them many years ago; they taught me many usefull skills, like how to 'hustle' and how to organise and multi task. At the time, I worked in the busiest one in Scotland, and it was non stop from start to finish.
For what its worth, I used those multi tasking, cool under pressure skills they taught me in my next job - which was as an engineer on board a nuclear submarine. I can also keep a clear head when things get a little troubled in my hobby - I fly helicopters for fun these days.

So, yeah, maybe the training they provide IS actually worth doing after all. More power to you Freebie Junkie.

As for that 'spit on the floor' comment. Unfit to even eat or socialise with the majority of decent society in my opinion.
  • no offence mate but retail management isnt highly regarded in the business world, and moving from McDonalds to TJ Hughes (big time..) seems almost like demotion. And whats this diploma you keep going on about? an NVQ or something? try getting at least a degree then we'll talk

:rotfl: So do you only talk to people with degrees then? :rotfl:

I think most people who are slating retail & retail management have probably never even worked in retail so possibly have no idea what they are talking about.

Oh, its ok, I dont mind if you ignore me - I haven't got a degree & dont mind in the slightest that you probably haven't the time to look down and talk to me :)

I've got better things to do with my life - like find another thread to post on :D

EDIT : ooops, I'm so dim I forgot to ask - Do you ask people BEFORE you start talking to them whether they have a degree or do you judge them after their first sentence? Do you favour any particular degree? Do they have to confess their results to you to make sure they are good enough? Just wondering. Well, just wondering for the next minute and then I'll forget about you :)
Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...

all of the jobs in retail ive had have been part time whilst studying, i am doing a degree, i got a 2:1 last year and i just started my 3rd year yesterday. if you had read my post properly, you would have noticed that i did say that the job at tj's was for over summer. it was great working there, i got to work with the public and got 20% off. why do you look down on people who work in retail so much? if no one cooked your food or served in teh shops you went in youd be bug-gered wouldnt you?

p.s. i dont give a brass fart wether anyone i talk to has a degree or not.

    p.p.s. im not your 'mate'.
