  • It now seems the 3 minute thing is a myth.

I stumbled across the answer whilst on the site http://www.makeupyourownmind.co.uk/ that is run by McDonalds. Click on the "Your questions" section, then the "How do you operate" part, and then the "Serving Times" section.

They answer "No" to the suggestion that you can get a refund if it takes longer than 3 mins - although they don't really answer it more than this.
  • i emailed them and they denied this policy. terrible customer service

I just wanna say that i find the customer servise in McDonalds second to none.
  • Dare I suggest that anyone read 'Fast Food Nation' by Eric Schlosser?

The economic and human impact of the fast food industry is a well kept secret and McD's are one of the worst offenders.

I'm not trying to start a row here or anything, just wondering if anyone might want to learn some pretty jaw dropping facts about the fast food industry that might change the way you see it.

For instance, did you know that McD's and other fast food companies actively lobby the US government to prevent Health & Safety Legislation being passed that would increase their operating costs and as a result, on average, 17 children die anually in the US because of bad burger meat.

I'm only half joking when I say you could save yourself some money by not eating fast food at all. If I've hijacked this thread, I apologise, just felt it was important.
Be the change you want to see in the world.

Lots of things are bad in this world. Unfortunately we little people never get what we want and can never change anything. We supposedly live in a democracy, but all we have is democratic elections to vote for people who dictate what happens to education, international policy and the national health service etc, supposedly on our behalf and in our interests. When you vote, your vote is one of hudreds of thousands in your area and, that's all it is, one vote. Elections are won by hudreds of votes, not just one - so your vote effectively will always mean nothing.

If you protest about anything you might get an inch in the newspaper and arrested, but either way, you'll be largely ignored.

If you can't beat it join it.

The only way to lead the way would be to have a business equally as big as McDonalds operating under what the majority of people would see as good ethical principles and show other companies it doesn't eat into profits, and infact serves to increase them Unfortunately everything in the world is all about money.

Oh and for free maccy d's go through the drive through. Order a few things and pay. Drive around to the collection window. Collect your food, look *very* puzzled and say you also ordered (list of items) and they may give you them for nothing.

    There are other myths.

Dolly Parton was going to introduce a Big Whoppers range with the McDonald sign upside down.

McDonalds originally had a marketing deal with Disney and Bambi was going to be about a young calf orphaned by Burger King poachers with Dumbo being the sequel about a flying cow Dungo (the crows were going to be replaced by singing Ckicken McNuggets).

Lobotomys for staff are not mandatory.
A shadowy flight into the dangerous world of a man who does not exist.

A young loner on a crusade to champion the cause of the innocent,
the helpless, the powerless, in a world of criminals who operate above the law.

Some time ago we were driving home from a weekend away and decided to give the kids a "treat" (huh!) of a Mcdonalds Happy Meal. My wee girl doesn't like all the pickle and sauce etc (though she would NEVER spit it on the floor!!) so we asked for "a plain cheeseburger with nothing on it". Strange child, she eats her fries first, so we were some distance away when she discovered her "plain cheeseburger" was in fact a bun with a piece of processed cheese in it :rotfl:....

We popped in to the next Mcdonalds on the way for a replacement but I also wrote to their Head Office and got £10 in vouchers too!
