Not always as easy as that, especially with drive thru as you pay at window 1 and dont find out about the delay until window 3. Then by the time you have pulled in and parked up, gone inside to argue about getting your money back as theres no reasoning with them, the food is there.
I kicked off one time about waiting in the drive thru for 15mins then told to park up which was another 10 minutes The guy serving me got rather abusive, i went in to speak to the supervisor and he had a couldnt give a toss attitude and thought it was funny which made the situation worse. Its a shame when their lifetime ambition is to get promoted to chief burger flipper. And if you are the guy reading this, your not the bigger man..you work at mc donalds.
Off the soap box.4 years of entering competitions daily and not a thing won. What a fix.0 -
i work at mcdonalds, im 17, and at the end of the day its a job, you come to eat the food and all we do is serve it.
we dont get paid enough to take abuse from customers, especially front counter staff, as all we do is serve you the food, if you want to kick off with anyone, you should be speaking to kitchen staff.
as for the comment about the person who spelt "teh", they said they have dyslexia, and to be honest, i dont think its a comment that should have been said.
the 10 minute/ 3 minute rule does NOT exist.
best thing to do is be polite, and if you have waited over 400 seconds ask the crew member serving you why its taking so long, and if their as kind as me, they will offer you a free desert.0 -
I ALWAYS ask them to fill my fries up so it looks like the picture - they always give you a half filled one. They always do it. I am hungry x0

seems to be a lot of anger on this post.anyway can anyone tell me the actual benchmark that determines the phrase "fast" in fast food.it all seem a little hazy to me.for me most high street bakers like greggs serve actual fast food eg pasties, sandwhiches, pies and buns and are inhand very fast.as for the burger joints i have had plenty of experience of macdonalds and bk around the world but to my taste english md and bk have been the worst for hygiene and customer service i think the trouble with the english is that we all seem to have this conditioning were we are too scared to complain untill its too late.
rant finished :j
by the way did anyone know you are entitled to free coffee and tea refils at macs0 -

Why kitchen staff? why not the supervisor? You talk to the organ grinder not the monkey. I certainly wasnt abusive however with customer service you have to be good with customers and yes you will get into difficult situations but you calm them down. Saying ''oh well im not talking to you when your shouting as i dont get paid enough to'' typifies an attitude so common in the industry and its sad. I dont believe any customer service training is given at mc donalds, I think its expected that you know how to do it as you'd talk to your mates.
Always be calm and polite even in an irate situation and it will benefit it more...but you should already know this right?

Something free and pleasing customers? No way, god forbid it! The best compensation you get is ''there ya go mate!'' replacing ONLY the missing item
See this...KFC missed my fries out of my 14pc bucket. I got home and phoned them and they were really apologetic to me and offered me a full replacement bucket the next time i called plus keeping the one i have.
At mc donalds they missed a double cheeseburger from my meal. When called i got ''if you come down we'll replace it, bye'' When i went down only 1 double cheeseburger.
No point with the drive thru anyway as you end up parking up half the time4 years of entering competitions daily and not a thing won. What a fix.0 -

I know when I used to work there we weren't even allowed to travel to and from work in our uniforms and had to change at work!I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?0 -
We used to get free hot drink refills but when they changed the cups and started with the vouchers to collect for free drinks they said the refills had stopped.0

To the people querying the hygiene of BK and McDo - you can now check the hygiene levels in your local restaurants, including fast food places, by going on you local council website - 'scores on the doors' I think it's called. When I looked for my local area it was interesting to see that it wasn't the McDOnald's of this world that had the poorest hygiene levels, it was the so-called 'smart' restaurants...0
