    Afternoon everyone

Well another miserarable day here, think I may have jinxed the weather in Essex since my move from up north. Not to worry still got more boxes to unpack yet.

Managed to put my application in for a part time job at a local college today so will keep my fingers crossed. If I get it I would lose carers allowance for DS2, but would keep my mind active. Another option I had thought of as London is quite accessible for me would be mystery shopping whilst he is in school, then maybe I could keep carers allowance. Tried looking on the mystery shopping thread, but got very confused on what are the best companies to try. Jc2703 - any tips??

We are thinking of getting a pup too, I quite fancy a chocolate coloured lab. DH fancies an alsation but I am a bit wary due to my ds2(10) being very active & loud. Does anyone else have experience of either dog?

Not much os again today, washing will wait till better weather. Dinner is spag bol out of freezer, will add some spinach to it. Have managed 2 more boxes and thats about it.

Bitsy - I too get down when the house is a mess.
NPM - Hope you and ds are ok.
Falady - hope you managed to get some rest.
    n9eav - enjoy your fishing.
csarina - we too are thinking about getting a wood burning stove, there is a shop in the village that sells/fits them, going to have a look on saturday.
Dandy-candy - hope your mum is ok.
Essexgirl - Hope the exam goes well.
Candygirl - your man sounds great.
    Happy birthday to Mr Lindy-Loo.
glitterkitty - glad your surgery went ok.

Hope I haven't missed anyone. Enjpy the rest of your day. Hugs to anyone that needs/wants one. Take Care.

Topsyturphy a well-trained Lab can be an excellent companion for a 10 year old lad, if Mr LW's friend A's Molly Dog is anything to go by.

What I do know is that A used gun-dog training right from the start with Molly, but tbh I don't know exactly what that entails. I do know he had a book to work from plus relatives who work with gun dogs.

You don't actually have to end up using the dog as a gun dog, but the training methods are (apparently) very effective. - Put it like this, when I looked after Molly, I could have her walking off-lead beside the mobility buggy, with no trouble at all.

The downside to Labs is that they are very often basically stomachs on legs! Other friend C had one, named Bo (short for Bourneville), and he was a veritable hoover!
    HTH.

Read the first couple of posts and there is a list of companies to join

Retail Eyes are easy to start with - but dont expect to make your fortune! they are often straightforward and are useful for building your MS confidence.

React are a lovely company and often have days out in London as well as jewellery audits which are easy money

Assosia are a good company to work for but really dislike being talked about on the net!

Aba-i are great - build up a good reputation with these guys and you get some lovely shops

    GFK - another straightforward company

    TNS are another good company

Helion - great guy overseas us brits

ESA - great if you can pick up some jobs and get self-allocation status

All on the first page of the thread.

If you want to know any thing just pm me... I dont bite (much) :D

You will never make millions but you can get some free meals, discount of purchases you would make etc. There is a temptation at first to take everything and anything but you soon wise up and see where you can make a little money and which ones want your eyeballs as well as a report :D

Dont be afraid to put your NI number/bank details in any of the above companies as they are all reputable.

If you can read, write and tell a few fairy stories you'll do well - I love it :D This weekend I shall be taking pictures of crisps and buying lovely things in a certain posh food hall...just because ;) and getting paid to do it - what more can a girl want?

ETA : just a note for any applications MS reports are strictly objective ie

"the assistant appeared distracted and was not focused on my needs as a customer" rather than "the miserable assistant obviously couldnt be @rsed":D

Well I've come to the conclusion that the state of the house definately affects my sanity. The more untidy and cluttered it looks the worse I feel - is that nuts?? :o I mean it really gets to me - I don't consider myself to be a neat freak but perhaps I really am?
Anyone got any tips for not letting it get to you? It makes me snap at the kids and generally makes me miserable. Not felt like this on holiday but BANG! back home and feel the stress rising again.

    :o:o:o:o:o

I have come to the conclusion that I just cannot have an untidy and cluttered house, it stresses me out far to much, and I find I cannot relax at all :o, my house is far from spotless, but everything is in its place, and gets cleaned regularly, my kitchen is always spotless though, unless i'm actually cooking. Once it all tidy I can relax, I just find it easier to do an hour or so each day, and then I find I can relax.

Topsy, Labs are fairly bomb proof, and good family dogs, go for it xx
  • I am so gutted, just as I was preparing to go back to work, I was in another car accident last night. A car drove into the back of me at a roundabout, you would think with the terrible rain people would be more cautious. I was majorly in shock, whiplash pain has returned again, and likely to keep getting worse until it all comes out. What is worse is my phone wasn't working so I couldn't call anyone. My bumper is hanging off and my mud flap is pressed into my wheel so my car is undrivable. Also my very good friend text me today saying her Mum (who has terminal cancer) has been taken into a hospice today and won't be coming out (it wasn't expected to happen this soon).

OH has already suspended my mortgage payments for three months bless him, just can't believe I have to go through the whole claim process again and all the pain. Lightening really does strike twice. It took ages for my Mum and boyfriend to convince me the accident wasn't my fault, I guess I feel jinxed (for those of you that don't know I had an accident in April, the same thing). From a jellybaby who is feeling very sorry for herself right now :(
Hmmm will add up debt and stick on on later!

Couldn't work how to put on a link for wedding picture so have put into my Avatar for now, as I am not the most computer whizkid:D.

Jc2703 - thanks for the info, on carers allowance only allowed to earn up to £100 per week anyway, so am not looking to make loads, just a bit of pin money that will fit in round ds2 school hours mainly.

Lamewolf/redrubybargainbird - my instincts are to go with the lab i think but want to be able to see parents etc to try and check temprement, dont want a dog as excitable as my DS2.

jellybaby - my post crossed with yours, sorry to hear you have been in another accident and are in pain. Sending ((((Hugs)))).

Topsy I used to breed labs, yellow and blacks though. We also had 2 choccy ones who were mental,as they are bred for looks rather than temperament:D;)Make sure alos that the parents have clear eye results and good hip scores:)

(((hugs))) jellybaby - you are not jinxed, you have just been unfortunate. I had 2 accidents in space of 6 months few years back where people drove into my rear or side. It was horrible. Take it easy, see the doctor, especially if you were still suffering from the original accident. Don't let it knock your confidence or you will become too nervous to drive.
