Looked out the window and there's that morning winter dew on the cars. I love seeing it, makes me of cold winter nights and hot chocolate.

Ooooh me too. Don't get me wrong I like to have a good summer but I confess I do love my Autumn and especially Winter seasons :o

Well it feels like Autumn here - it's cold and yep still raining. They are allegedly saying it will dry up for the weekend. I hope so as H needs to clear out our guttering - it was only done 6 months ago and it's overflowing by the down pipe :( Next time I buy a house it will NOT be with Oak trees in the vicinity :(

Well I didn't seem to achieve much yesterday :o Was really tired and was getting fed up with the state of the house - I did most of the packing for our hols and it felt like I did most of the unpacking and putting away too  Anyway need to get my butt in gear today as I need to go to the supermarket and H is on about going to Ikea to gets DD's new furniture. Have washing hanging everywhere and it's taking ages to dry.......

Sorry not much OS going on :o

I fancy going blackberry picking the weekend - now I don't like the seeds in fruit like black berries etc. Do you think I could seive the fruit through a muslin to take out most of the "bits" and then make jam with the rest??? Just fancy having a go at making something other than a crumble for once!!!

lowesy - Hope you're OK my lovely xx

Another wet and miserable morning here, must be dull out there, can barely see over the trees outside the flat - normally I can see miles! Good job that load of washing never made it to the machine really lol. Just caught the weather forecast, so it looks like I'll be able to get it out over the weekend. Was supposed to be going away over the weekend with friends, but I've been through the remaining budget for this month, and I've told them I just can't make it this time - there's still work to do as well, so I probably should get on with that!

Off to uni again today, think tonight will be a left overs tea - just need to decide which particular set of leftovers! Must remember to pick my coat up before I leave this morning as well, got soaked last night coming home...

Hope everyone has a good day

    Lucy :)

Morning everyone. Massive hugs to all in need of them, especially kezlou.
It's damp and cold here (in the east)- even the garden tiger hasn't stirred from our bed all night.
Yesterday, I went a bit mad on the batch cooking, bagging up 6 portions of cottage pie style soya mince, 5 portions of pork S&S, courtesy of lonely reduced remnant of pork loin, a reduced tin of Mr T's value S&S suce plus assorted floppy onions and peppers and a slab of chocolate crispy cake (made with stale muesli-crunch style cereal and half a packet of sesame Ryvita plus chocolate). Even DH loved it, and he's allergic to Ryvita!

Bargainbird - I think you can chuck the blackbberies into the muffin mix at the end of the process, or just partialy fill your cases, drop a few berries in each one , then cover them up with more mixure. They could be quite tart, so you may need to up your sugar. Alternatively you could add some icing when they come out of the oven.

Have the best day that you can, everyone.

Morning all.....................................(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) if you need one.

When I got home from my quilting group and a visit to Aldi yesterday the builders were here getting a head start for today. We were up at 7.15 ready for them coming between 8.am and 8.30am, the frist job is dropping the liner down the chimney, the slabs for the hearth atr piled up in the sitting room, riven stone.....also the steel surrond is sitting on the floor ready to be bolted into place.

Its very cold, but we have blue sky, I am hoping the sun comes out at some point, we may ve eating in the garden at lunch time.

Better go, I need to empty the attic ready for the insulation people tomorrow, by this time next week, I should have a clean, tidy warm house, fingers crossed................................................................................................

  • Morning everyone!
Just sat having my toast and coffee again this morning before I get ready to go for my surgery (eeek!) it's nothing major, I should be in and out in an hour with only one or two stitches. My boyfriend stayed at mine last night so he could come with me :-) After thats over, we're off into Newcastle to pay into our joint saving account and I can pick up my enamel pie plate from lakeland so I can try making a pie on Tuesday :-)
Going to get my crocheting out today too, ready to take into work tomorrow and saturday. (when i work a late shift, and a saturday its always really quiet so I can get loads of crocheting done!) Going to start the cushion covers for Christmas presents :-)
Can't wait for autumn to start properly - I don't enjoy the summer too much! Autumn and winter are my seasons :-)

    Have a good day all!

    Morning All

British Gas here this morning to fix boiler, it is losing pressure, under repair scheme, so not extra cost.

Kathy - advice from me was via the Techie pages - another friend had the problem a while ago.

OS wise bought 3 bacon joints for £10 at Tesco, cooked 2 of them in the SC, will slice 1 to take with us for sarnies this weekend, and slice the other and freeze, the third is frozen already, though may use some of it to add to the chicken for a chicken and ham pie. Also got some hg beans and plums yesterday from the site we are holding the rally next weekend, had some for tea last night, and blanched the rest of the beans, and going to make a plum pie/crumble later. Did my first HM bread for a while in the BM a 5 seeded loaf. Also got some more wholemeal flour from Tesco, that a some Lurpak light was all I bought:A

I had ended up with too much cheese in Spain so packed it in a coolbag and brough it home, and while OK, it went a bit soft, so grated it all in the FP, and then bagged and froze it.

DH & I then sat and watched the back Celebrity Masterchef on i-player, so now we are up to date with that.

Forecast says we should be fine beore 1pm, however, looks like we are OK now, just very overcast. Will be packing the 'van shortly.

Take care & ((hugs)) where needed, DG

    Morning All

We have blue skies too this morning but there's definitely that nip in the air - hopefully it will warm up as the day goes on like it did yesterday. DS1 was asking for the heating on last night...told him to put a jumper on ;) I may have to relent sooner than I had planned.

DD got some extra days at her nursery allocated so she'll be going three days a week from the 6th - we do have to pay and as DH doesn't have contracted hours we don't get help from tax credits so that's a bummer. She's supposed to be going monday tuesday and thursday but I want to change the monday to a wednesday as you have to pay even when the school is closed - and its closed more mondays than any other day!

MS job for lunch today and I'll get something easy out for dinner. I'll be glad when the kids are all in bed and I can relax and plan the marathon that is my weekend!

Take care and hugs to those that need them x
