well i usually try to keep the PMA up when posting, but felt bit down last night and hope u dont mind me sharing as not sure who else to talk to....
its just this week is THE week for BDing. supposed to OV anytime from tomorrow til friday. and if we don't fall this month was going to take a 2 month break. Have been trying to keep it light hearted for OH, but he doesn't know how much its cutting me up inside that its not happened yet, and am feeling that time is just ticking away i'm getting older and its not happening. (sorry for lack of PMA!) Anyway, tried to jump OH last nite but he was too tired, he has been working v long shifts this week. He'll be busy til around 10pm tomorrow night and Thursday too, and i'm panicking that if we don't BD we'll miss OV time and miss our chance. OH doesn't know anything about how small a time frame we have to get pg each month, i've not gone into all this with him as didn't want to pressure him and let him know how much i've been planning/charting everything etc. Dont think it would go down too well. Last night I got upset and told him how i felt that it hadn't happened and he thought i was blowing things out of proportion and it will happen when it happens. Little does he know just how much it hurts, dont want him to think i am mental. Anyway we had a bit of a fall out last night and don't know if any BDing will happen now before Friday and its killing me that we're wasting the chance. Can anyone relate to this or do your OHs all know when OV time is & how important it is to BD then? again sorry for the lack of PMA ladies will try to do better next post xxxx

Sorry to hear this Jen. HUGS!!!!

I am not in this position yet as we aren't planning to start trying until end of this year, but...I've already been dropping things like ovulation, temping etc etc into conversation with him, so that he has a fair idea of what is involved when the time comes. Good job too cos I am getting a lot of 'Really?'s and 'I didn't realise's in response. For example, he knew that sore nips and breasts can be a sign of pregnancy, but had no idea it could be a sign of ovulation too. To be fair, neither did I, so this is a learning curve for me too.

I think my OH would be quite similar to yours though, in that he won't want to know all the ins and outs, and what my temp is each day etc, so I'm trying the softly softly approach. Dribbling bits of information to him. When the time comes, I plan to keep track of it all on one of those website chart thingy's, and just let him know a few days in advance that ov is approaching so it's time to get busy.

As for this month, perhaps try to sit down with him tonight or another night (when he's home from work earlier), and tell him that you don't want to fight and you're sorry if he's feeling under pressure, it isn't your intention, but this is very important to you. Try not to empthasise how upset you are as that may make him feel like it's his fault, or that he has to fix it (and he doesn't know how). And then let him know that you've done a little research, and realised that it's important WHEN you BD, as it needs to be close to ovulation and as luck would have it, that time is now, so how about having some fun in the bedroom ;) Try to keep it light. I think guys, too often, feel a lot of pressure to fix any problem we present them with, so sometimes its better to play it down and offer the solution at the same time.

I hope that helps. If not, have another HUG!!

    xx

    That's a great advice Euro:cool:

I remember one conversation I had with a work colleague who is in her mid 40s, been TTC since her 20s but no luck. She knows I had mc, and my ttc without luck and am having IUIs etc.

Me: '#&%$! Period has started, have to phone the clinic and get an appt for next scan'
    She: 'Will they say congratulations?'
Me: Pause. 'They only say that if you are pg, anything other than that is more like condolences:p'
    She: Puzzled look.
Me: 'Having a period means baby making did not work'
She: 'Oh I see, mum used to say congrats whenever I had my period'
    Me: zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Having had a little chat, she didn't know there was a 24hr window for ov, or there's such a thing as ewcm or opks. She has a text book 28day cycle though so never temped. She's given up on babies but I don't know:think:

Her Mum used to say congratulations? I've never heard of that before. I remember my Mum making a big fuss when I first started my periods, saying I was a woman now and ringing all the other women in the family though. God, I could've died right there from the embarassment! lol. Bless her, I think she was trying to turn something new and scary into something positive. Didn't work. Periods still suck!

Crikey, did she never research it, or ask the doctors for some help in TTC? Do you think it's too late for her now, or could she still try but maybe doesn't want a baby now she's mid 40's?

I was thinking that it might be a good idea to chart my cycle on one of those website thingy's. Do you have a linky please?

    Thank you. :)

:rotfl: I have older sister and a younger one, so it wasn't a big deal:D

She wanted to leave it to fate. If it wasn't to be then that's it.
I feel the same way, but after few IVFs:D
If it isn't meant to be it's not. Adoption then:o
