Oh and as for motivational tricks - I NEVER weigh in in stones and lbs any more - always just lbs (digital scales) as I found I felt like I obsessed about the number of stones I still was, rather than the x lbs I'd lost, and it demotivated me.

And have lots of small goals, rather than focusing on the big picture. Like 2lbs a week (recommended rate for healthy weight loss), go away for a weekend with OH when you lose x lbs, shopping trip at x lbs, whatever will keep you going :D

  • Thanks BigZ,

You are a wise and knowledgable woman! I know what I need to do its just a case of putting it into practice. I guess its just making those first changes, like you said you soon adjust to them. My worst downfall is putting off till tomorrow, and knowing if i have a bad day i will just give up till the next week. I figure if i cut out any junk food and cutting down potion size.

Right I AM going to do this and I am going to do it NOW!! I dont want to be an elephant anymore

That's the key - don't turn a bad hour/day into a bad week. ;) Get crackalackin tomorrow - read the nutritional info on what you eat - you'll get there! If I can do it, trust me, you can too! :p

    Hi everyone

I had to have some time off the thread after AF came, it really upset me a lot, almost as much as my miscarriages, and I needed to get my head together. I have finished Af today, so counting down to OV and will definitely BD at least every other day as it approaches this time.

WElcome to all the newbies, I have read through but cannot remember everything so hugs to everyone that needs them.

Hello, I'm going to start trying to read this thread in the hope that it will get me to greater levels of BDing! I don't recognise many of the names on the list but I'm from the parents thread due to having my LO in Oct 2009. Can someone add me to the list, I can't remember how to do it.

I would really like only two school years between my kids but I haven't got long left to make that happen! As it happened though I'm still breastfeeding and my periods didn't return until March this year and sex drive has been at an all time low, we only did it once last month and so far once this month and I'm probably past the fertile period now for this month. Slowly getting back into things but don't want to start making it too clinical too soon. Can anyone direct me to a good page for checking CM as I think that will be the easiest way for me to start helping things along.

    Thanks

Hi Jennynoo. We seem very similar. My DD was born in July 2009, we are breastfeeding too, and I also attachment parent :) I also had wanted a small gap, originally I wanted 18 months but it soon was clear that wasn't going to happen! Then i wanted no more than 3, which I may just about manage, but although my periods came back after 6 months (despite 5 night feeds!) I wasn't up for much sex OR for another baby at that point, and so we waited a bit. Unfortunately i had a miscarriage in March so that would have been my perfect gap but it wasn;t to be.

Anyway, just wanted to say hi as we seem similar :)

Hello, I'd like to be added to this group please, am 27, just off the pill ttc#1 and I think I'm CD19 but last AF was withdrawl from the pill so who knows!

I have tried so hard to continue with life as normal and not read too much about pg, but then I've realised I must have picked up so little in sex ed (I think they just teach you how not to conceive so am clueless!) I've had to try to educate myself a bit!

Not thinking about charting yet, I'm busy with work and trying to distract myself from thinking about it all the time, and I can't keep anything from DH, if somethings on my mind I chat about it, so I guess we're actively trying and I'm actively trying not to get myself too excited if that makes sense?

Hi Amy. :) That totally makes sense. I think most of us are like that. Welcome to the gang.

OK, I have nothing to say really, just wanted to check back in in case anyone missed me

  • Welcome back skintchick - glad you are feeling a bit better now :)

I'm feeling much better today (after a strawberry tart and some chocolate), and especially excited as our photographer says that our wedding pictures will be in the post this week!! SO excited!!

I also might have scored a super-cheap marquee for our post-wedding party in September from the local scouts. If it comes off, it would be the MSE :money: bargain of the century - fingers crossed. :T

Hi Skintchick, nice to meet a fellow attachment parent :) I also wanted to do the BF helper thing but what with working four days a week I thought it might be a bit too much although I'm keeping it in mind for my next maternity leave.

Do you still have LO in bed with you? How do you cope BDing? DD is in a side cot and so far we haven't found it a problem, just have to pray she doesn't wake up and normally I'm a bit vocal so have to keep quiet - adds to the excitement a bit and means we don't have to have any marathon sessions which I'm too tired to do anyway and to be honest I think I would get bored! Or do you do it in another room? Probably more sensible :o

Sorry to hear about your MC and lack of sticky dust so far, fingers crossed you, and everyone else on here, get lucky soon. I had a MC back in Nov 2008 but was lucky and got pregnant quickly after it. I noticed you said your going to try DBing at least every other day, I don't know if you have seen this site but it recommends not trying more than every other day until you are ovulating (see second bullet point in the fact section).

My sisters second baby is due on Tuesday, she just posted on facebook that she has been on the toilet all day! Getting excited about getting new baby cuddles soon :smileyhea

    and I also attachment parent

Welcome back skintchick, sorry to hear you've been having a hard time but glad you're feeling up to rejoining us!

Quick question - what is this 'attachment parent' business? Never heard of it before!

My temp was down a bit from yesterday but still well above my cover line. I think yesterday's was probably elevated due to my rubbish night's sleep!!!

I only have a 4 day week this week, we're going away for a long weekend with my parents and the in-laws...not sure how relaxing that'll be!!! DH and I might have a night in a B&B afterwards to recover!!!

Is anyone due to test soon? We're almost halfway through August and only 1 BFP so far!! Hopefully we'll get a glut of them over the next couple of weeks!

Wow Lisa, you had a huge dip at 6DPO! Thats a good sign isn't it? I was just wondering if my dip yesterday at 6DPO would be a good sign of implantation as it has gone back up to what is was saturday now but mine was only a difference of 0.16º so probably nothing :( I certainly dont feel any different.

Sorry to ehar about AF Skintchick, nice to see you back though :o
