Trying for a Baby Part Six

Thanks Emsbet that makes me feel a lot better. Guess I'm in the 2WW then!
I found it hard to believe we could miss a day at the fertile time and the swimmers would still be hanging around. Clearly they're a lot more patient than me I don't wait 72 hours for anything! I read on another forum that the 'every 2 days' thing is a bit of a con as that is for men who have difficulty producing enough sperm, but a pretty equal number of men have sperm that don't last as long and you need to be at it every 12 hours!!! In the end I just tried not to think about timing it and just take advantage when the mood arose.
Been watching 'Born to be different' online this morning while I do some business planning, all the kids in it are quite seriously disabled in some way, but they are all so mature and accepting, makes me feel a lot more positive that I could cope with a disabled child, which is obviously a fear of most parents to be.
You're welcome. FF has some really good information on it - I think I must have read it all about four times already!
There seems to be difference in opinion with BDing but I've never seen every 12 hours recommended! I don't think that I would be able to walk BDing evey 12 hours around ov!:rotfl:
I watched "Born to be different" it was such a good programme and the children were so inspiring!

I'm SUCH a lazy mare, for the first time ever I got up, had breakfast - went back to bed at 11:25 and had a 3 hour nap, up in time for lunch!
DS is going down for a sleep now, so considering ANOTHER nap. I could definitely lay down - soooo exhausted.
(I did POAS though, at 7dpo. I dont know why I did, especially since I claim NOT to be a POAS addict and I knewknewknew, it would be a BFN)Baby 2b born March 2013! :j:j:j0 -
It's prompted me to brave watching 'One Born every minute' - I've seen it once but the lady started hemmoraging and scared me senseless, but I've plucked up the courage to try a second episode in the hope this one will be more inspiring.0

I'm the same - I looked in the mirror this morning, and I think they look a bit smaller than last night.
AF is due 20th June for me. When are you due? Will keep fingers crossed that we will turn out to be BFP buddies along with the rest of the people posting - wouldn't it be amazing if we all got a BFP en masse? :T
That would be AMAZING!!! :T:T:T
My cycles vary in length from 32 - 35 day. I think AF is due on the 19th (Im working that out as 14 days past ovulation) and Im down for testing from QQ as he 20th, so Im going to stick to that!

I think you may be stressing too much re TTC & resulting nap:plady started hemmoraging and scared me senseless,0 -
What do you get out of doing an OPK 3 times a day when it gets darker? Surely if your man is available you DTD, sperm lasts 72 hours ish, and just keep DTDing until the temps rise, knowing the exact time the line is darkest is a bit moot isn't it?
Kaemi, is this aimed at me?
I don't recall saying anything about doing an OPK 3 times a day, but I really and truly do have a shocking memory! If I did, I probably was talking about it because my donor doesnt live in this country - so the earlier I can catch an LH surge, the better?
I use CBFM each morning, so there is 24 hours between each test - the LH surge could have started to occur anytime in between. I think QQ recommneded for me to test in the evening too, so that that there is only 12 hours - I like this idea and did it once last cycle before my LH surge and micarulously managed to catch it!
Any advance notice I can give to my donor, is a bonus and his time is very limited, we were lucky last month to be able to DTD twice, this month only once.Baby 2b born March 2013! :j:j:j0 -
The album I have on has run though twice in the time its taken me to catch up! Good thing Mumford & Sons are so upbeat, I'm not positively euphoric.
Stats very handy. My OH keeps reading the thread over my shoulder but he won't post as there are no men on here!
Okay you make me laugh - please do stick around! I'm not sure I could have had sex after hearing him talk like that - I watched some programme a while ago (think it was called 'The Great Sperm Race' where all the sperm were human sized and going up tiny corridors and fighting and running over hills and things.... now the day after we DTD I can't help imagining the sperms faces like those on the program...
I read it - I assumed your OH worked away a lot as a sales rep or something!

Re holding it for two hours, my internet cheapies (bits of paper with green on the end) say 2 hours but I usually only make it to 1 1/2 and I still got a big bold positive on Thursday, very faint on Friday although a little bolder yesterday (still a neg though as not as dark as control line).
Temp has risen by about 0.45C, but I thought it was about a degree rise to show OV had occured - any advice? All on my chart if anyone would like a gander and advise if they think I OV-d and we timed it right I'd really love to get advice.
Trying to work out if I fell down the stairs yesterday and forgot - my tummy is really tight (like when you do FAR too many situps, I can feel it all tight by prodding it), I have shooting pains in one ear (I get a lot of earache but sort of under my ear and down my neck, not in the actual ear - it feels swollen), even my ankles and wrists hurt. I really hope I'm not getting flu and I just slept badly. Don't worry not in any way SSing, no wagging fingers at me!
Gosh Charlie, I was shocked you have a bmi of 15, I would be suprised if your body was fertile with a BMI that low. Please don't read that as nagging or in any way judging but one of my friends tried to conceive for years and years with a BMI of 16.2ish, got to the point of discussing IVF and they said she had to raise her BMI to over 18.5, took her 7 months but she did it, and fell naturally within 2 months while waiting to go to the clinic! Its something about our body not having enough energy and stored fat to support you let alone a baby, so even if an egg is fertilised it can't latch on. I didn't know whether to post in case it came across as getting at you or anything, but if her experience could in any way help someone else help get their little one I know she'd want to shout it from the rooftops as she went through years of pain thinking she'd never get to be a mum. If you've got PCOS anyway which you can't control, might make sense to try to control the things you can.
Really hope your FIL is okay BB1984.
Think ill change that to i was feeling better...
How nice of you to be so blunt when i was trying to look at the positives0 -

No not aimed at anyone in particular, but I've seen a few people saying they got a dark line at say 1pm, so they did it again at 4pm but it was lighter, and I don't get why once you've got a dark line you test further - its not a dig just a question as I'm new to this. I've also seen a lot of ff galleries where they test 3, 4 times a day I understand why people do them up until the line is darker than the control one ofc.
Do you mind me asking the logistics of if you live in different countires? Do you go to him or does he take time of work to come and see you? It must be quite expensive to be back and forth on the plane until you get the BFP. He must have quite a strong moral compass to helping other couples create their family as its not as simple as popping down the road.0 -

I think it was me who mentioned three times a day when posting a quote from QQ which I had copied onto a sticky on my laptop. I personally haven't tested OPKs three time a day - only ever manage once, get fed up of holding my wee! :rotfl:
I think for those who don't/can't BD as often using the OPKs more helps to pinpoint the onset of ov more accurately as temping will only tell you once you have ov'd.... but I maybe completely wrong and misunderstood the idea.
