I purchased a toilet on amazon which arrived later than promised, it was signed for by my plumber and apparently he was supposed to inspect it in front of the driver for damage,
When I went to open the box a few days later I found the cistern to be cracked down the middle
JT Pickfords have said that as we didn't inspect the item they wont refund and after looking at photos they are also saying that it looks like it has been used!
Any advice or guidance much appreciated0 -

Help help!
Hi guys.
Just needed some advice after I'd given up hope.
I bought a Dyson hand held hoover on the 1st of December. It arrived the next day and we started using it the week after.
We were slight surprised at the lack of battery / short time it actually worked and after trying to get used to it we called Dyson customer services up and asked if we could return it.. It's just not as great as we thought.
The lady informed us it's been 18 days since we bought the item (online direct from Dyson) and we're only entitled to a refund 14 days from purchase.
I thought that it was 28 and doesn't distance selling rules apply?
Please help!! I just want to know where I stand.0 -

Sorry, as far as I am aware, assuming there is no fault you only have 14 days (previously it was 7 days).

I bought a tap on Amazon 9 months ago. It was fitted two months ago and the handle has 'fallen off'. It looks like the tread on the handle has snapped.
I emailed the company and said as it is under 12 months, could they advise next steps. They said they would send a free tap to replace it, but would charge £15 postage.
I replied saying I though a replacement (and postage) would be free as they are under warranty, plus I would have to pay for a plumber to fit it. They replied to say there is only 6 months warranty.
Where do I stand with this? It seems petty to get into a big debate over £15, but I would expect a £40 tap to last longer than 9 months (especially as it's only been used for 2 months).0 -

As the tap was over 6 months old the onus is on you to prove on the balance of probability that the tap was inherently faulty i.e. the fault existed (but was not apparent) when you bought the item. I suspect this may be more effort than it is worth for £40. (I would not be confident the replacement would last any longer than the one that just broke.)0
