I was just reading the guide regarding the new digital rights - I notice that you DON'T have the right to a refund if you buy a sealed CD from a shop and open it, but apparently you DO get the online 14 day cancellation rights for a digital download... does this mean customers can purchase and download whatever songs they want from iTunes, keep them for 13 days and then ask for their money back??
I work for a company that sells short online training courses - several of these courses could easily be completed in this 14 day cancellation period - surely consumers do not have the right to purchase them, completely use them and then still ask for a refund??0 -
Do you mean this section of MSE's Consumer Rights guide?Marcus_Cooper wrote: »I was just reading the guide regarding the new digital rights - I notice that you DON'T have the right to a refund if you buy a sealed CD from a shop and open it, but apparently you DO get the online 14 day cancellation rights for a digital download... does this mean customers can purchase and download whatever songs they want from iTunes, keep them for 13 days and then ask for their money back??

Where it says:There’s no automatic right to a full refund within 30 days
If the digital content doesn’t measure up you can ask for a repair or replacement. If the repair or replacement doesn’t work, or isn’t possible, you can then ask for a reduction in price instead.
The law says that a full refund may be given “where appropriate”, so act quickly and you may actually get all of your money back - but in general this is likely to be a partial refund.0 -

I ordered a cooker on 23.10.15 and was given an original delivery date of 2.11.15, this was then cancelled as apparently the stock came in damaged. I was then given another delivery date for 13.11.15 in which argos cancelled again saying that the driver was over his driving hours and was not able to deliver my order. I was then given another date for 15.11.15 in which yet again argos cancelled saying that they had a technical problem and no deliveries would be delivered. I was given another date and yet again they cancelled. I am so frustrated with the situation. I have asked for a refund on 20.11.15 and was told this would take 3 working days, then 5 days, then 7 days. It has now been 11 days in total and 7 working days with no refund of £249.99. What are my rights?

Hi,
I'm having mega problems with ZAVVI (THE HUT GROUP).
I signed up for the one month rolling subscription, after the first box I decided to cancel it (beginning of November), I noticed mid November that it was still active so emailed them again. Both times they replied saying it was cancelled.
On 02/12/15 I noticed they had taken the money out of my account. I have emailed them requesting it is cancelled and that they refund me, they replied saying they would cancel it and ignored my refund request. I have sent a further email but they are very slow at responding.
They don't have a customer services phone number to ring and based on the email responses its not going to be easy getting a refund.
Rang the bank and I have to make 'reasonable' efforts to get a refund before they will investigate. According to TESCO Bank I 'Authorised' the amount, when actually I clearly didn't authorise anything.
Any advice would be appreciated.0 -
Honest mistake, as soon as I realised I reposted in the correct area.
No need to get so angry.0 -
The thing is, you're not alone ... probably 100+ others have ignored the thread title. The frustration lies with people's inability to read.0
