I decided to wait a month before starting with a new host as I'm skint right now and I did click on the wrong one anyway...
I asked if it's too late to cancel it and they sent me info on how to cancel the package (implies that it's ok to cancel!!) but yet they took the money and are now saying I can't cancel it for a year!Light bulb moment April 07: [strike]£3,655 [/strike] Oct 07: [strike]£2,220[/strike] now 0 - 3 years of Uni debt to be added at a later datenow at Uni as a Mature student -update: now has a First Class BA!0 -

if you read the post it says it was one minute between clicking yes to the package and asking to cancel! not a month.Light bulb moment April 07: [strike]£3,655 [/strike] Oct 07: [strike]£2,220[/strike] now 0 - 3 years of Uni debt to be added at a later datenow at Uni as a Mature student -update: now has a First Class BA!0 -
Hi, I bought 2 weeks in a Thai hotel form Hotels.com The hotel had bed bugs, moved me to another room which also had bed bugs. I phoned Hotels.com and was told that i would be refunded, so I checked out early. Now they say they have no record of the conversation and i won't get a refund. I can prove i called as i did if from Skype (on holiday) so have a call directory. I bought this with visa not credit cards.
Do i have any rights here?0 -
Hi
Don't know if you can help me but last night I was pricing up a caravan holiday in France at a site we have stayed at previously. I was negotiating through the pages re price, dates etc when the next page said 'thank you for your booking, a confirmation email will be sent and the deposit taken from your cc'. I have since received the email.
Up to this point I hadn't entered any payment details as this normally comes towards the end of a transaction with a 'confirm purchase' button. Do you think they have kept my cc details from our previous hol and if so are they allowed to do this? There was no confirm button.
On adverts they had sent me they offered a 5% reduction for returning customers and a discounted holiday if we didn't use the ferry crossing included in the price so I was expecting the next page to give me these options and then a final price.
They aren't open until tomorrow - obviously I will phone them first thing but wondered where I stood if they refuse to cancel the 'booking'.
Thanks0 -
You should contact your CC company now, and inform them that you did not make the booking and to stop the payment.
It is possible they have your cc details from your previous dealings with them, but if there really was no confirmation payment details, then this seems like an error on their system or sharp practice, a phone call to them tomorrow should sort the problem out, but as I said, call your cc company NOW!

I bought an Acer Aspire M5811 Desktop from Ebuyer in June 2010 and it's been back to the repairers for the 2nd time because of a hard disk drive fault which after receiving it back the first time was told that the fault has been fixed.
It had to be returned the second time with the same fault as the first and now they have destoyed and dumped it without my say so.
I was told that I should have transferred to a back up drive/disk and couldn't as the computer wouldn't allow me to do it.
I did ring Acer and when I gave them the Model number they told me that it was a 6 year old computer and I thought I bought a brand new computer will all new intel processors and new ddr 3 memory chips with the latest dedicated graphics cards etc. So how could this be a 6 year old Machine
When I was told in an email that it was faulty and I'm getting a replacement, I requested on 2 occassions for my precious data to which I was told that I couldn't have it and the reasons given were
1/ The hard disk drive would have to be set back to factory settings and all data lost and my response was the data was on the\ drive so all data would still be intact. I then receive another email telling me that they don't have to equipment to transfer over the data.
2/ Then I'm told that it would break Data Protection Laws to which I replied the data on there is mine and I need it back. I explained that there is very precious data of my daughter and I at Disneyland Paris in October 2010 which I was in the process of making a DVD when the computer went down.
3\ I was also told that I should have put all my data on a back up disk and I explained that I couldn't do that as the computer prevented me from doing that.
4\ I am then told that they can't get the disk back as it's gone to their technical department and has been destroyed and there was nothing they can do.
I have replied telling them that they had no right to destroy my computer with my data on as it was legally mine and I owned it. I should have been told before they decided to dump the machine what I wanted to happen with the computer instead of going ahead with destroying property that they had no right to destroy.
I need to know if my consumer rights have been breached? and what should I do
Please advise0 -
quite simply.its your responsibility to have a back up of your data0

Yes, I know that but when the computer won't allow me back up because of the problem, what can you do?0
