Hi everyone, this is my first post
So a couple of days ago I bought some noise cancelling ear canal headphones for £70 online with my debit card but I'm not happy with them and want to return them. Thing is I've just checked their terms and it says I returns which have been opened are subject to a 15% handling charge AND a £5 charge!
1) Do I have a leg to stand on if I dispute these terms or have I already accepted them?
2) To complicate matters it then has a note saying in ear headphones are exempt from these term. I assume they want me to interpret this as you are not allowe to return in ear style headphones but I think it is very ambiguous.
What do you think my rights are and what outcome should I hope for?
Thanks & Merry Christmas0 -

Hi
I bought them online and I'm not happy with them because I don't think the noise cancelling feature has any effect and they don't have sufficient clarity.
I consider £70 to be a lot of money and
they are not of satisfactory quality for the reasons above but I was thinking this is rather questionable as it's subjective. It's not like they are physically broken (I think).0 -
Can someone please help me.
My hubby bought me some earrings from Viviene Westwood shop after I mentioned that I would like a pair. He has bought me the wrong ones tho (do feel awful that he has gone to the trouble) He was not told in the shop the refund/exchange policy and only now looking at the receipt does it say that refunds not allowed on earrings or underwear.
I don't want a refund just a exchange for a pair of earrings that are actually more money and have not wore them. Do you think they would allow this?
Thanks so much for your time if you do reply0 -

You can only ask, however if the seals have been broken then they will say no, otherwise you are at the goodwill of the shop, as you have no rights to refund/exchange unless they are faulty or not as described.

Hi
I'm not sure if this is the right forum post for this but my question is about online web hosting.
I was thinking of changing my web host and was looking at 1&1 hosting plans and you can't find out the full price (with VAT) etc unless you practically go through the process... I had two tabs up one with a business basic plan and the plan below that on the other tab - clicked the wrong one so I emailed and said can I cancel (this one within a minute of clicking the accept button) they said fine and gave me instructions on how to cancel - I decided I'd wait until the New Year as I've not been paid yet (part time job as I'm a mature student - I'm also still waiting for a bursary payment which is rather late) so I thought it's best to wait a little longer but I've now seen that they have taken payment.
I emailed the company and they said I can't cancel the package for a year so I wont get my money back (6 months of the package which is £53 but why a year if I've only paid for 6 months?).
I wanted to know if web hosting companies have a cooling-off period? I thought most companies had to do this, if not all?
I have to call the company at some point because I've decided to move my domain names away from them and for some reason the settings have been greyed out and I can't changed the ips tag (might have got the name wrong on that) I only have 3 domain names with them and was thinking of having my hosting there too but after they said I could cancel then I don't understand why they later said it will take a year - it's not like it's a product I can download - I can't use the space if it's cancelled etc.
Any one know if web hosts have a cooling off period and I could possibly get the £53 back (I cancelled my credit card as 1&1 don't allow you to remove it from their site - It's on there to pay for the domain names that I brought 2 years ago - strange that my credit card has been renewed twice in that period and I don't remember updating it in that time)
thanks for any information you can offer... shame to lose £53.Light bulb moment April 07: [strike]£3,655 [/strike] Oct 07: [strike]£2,220[/strike] now 0 - 3 years of Uni debt to be added at a later datenow at Uni as a Mature student -update: now has a First Class BA!0
