thank you, He said it went well. He had to give a 6 minute presentation, but he's used to them by now. He should know tomorrow so fingers crossed.
We've always been with the H/f so I'd be reluctant to change as they have always been fine with me. The dilemma is deciding what fixed term to go for 3 or 5 years, but after much debating I think we are going for the 3. I wished I'd have asked more about the differences in surveys but it was after 5pm and the mortgage person was clocking off so I didn't push it. I can't find anything on the net about it.
Our buyer is coming back tomorrow to bring his potential lodger so another tidy up is needed.
I've spent most of the day thinking about the new mortgage and keeping costs low , it seems to be taking up so much of my time already. In my head I've already moved and my chandeliers are up and sofas are in there all looking nice.I can't be bothered updating this anymore0 -
Good morning!
I feel like today is going to be a good one. My washing is out already as I washed it last night, everyone is in bed except me and the house is quiet...bliss!
Our buyer came round yesterday with the people he wants to rent it to and they loved it. They got excited about my Laura Ashley chandeliers until I told them I wouldn't be leaving them.We really need to be ruthless now on what we want to and don't want to take with us. There's no point taking stuff to throw it out when we've moved. I've looked at van hire and as the house is down the road , it looks the best cheapest option for us at about £69 hire per day.
Today is the day we are going to view the house. Exciting stuff! I really hope it's the one and our hopes and dreams will come true.
DH still hasn't heard about the job but no news is good news. Yesterday he was approached by an job agency as they heard he was unhappy ( they originally contacted him last year through recommendation by someone and placed him where he is now ) so they are looking for a job for him now. He's not too fussed about the interview he went to as it would be a internal transfer and he feels he should get out of the company altogether even though they have a contract with a high street company for the next 8 years.
I've not been on here much at the moment but just catching up when I can. I've still been doing the surveys etc and did one yesterday for 6k points plus a trail of nappies! A weeks worth I think :j
Have a good day !I can't be bothered updating this anymore0 -

Me too I've been up most of the night working out how much to offer, 5% less seems to be the norm which I'd be happy at paying. Of course we may go round and hate it.I can't be bothered updating this anymore0

well do your homework, it may be well priced for the area but then again it might be priced artificially high so a offer of 5% below 'asking' is the properties true worth.
How close is it priced to a stamp duty level?? I would be offering below that if its close IE asking 135k I would be starting 121 ish with 124995 my max because of SD. Try focus on the room sizes and layouts rather than the decor which is hard I knowMF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000 -
Fingers crossed you love the house0

Thanks LP TBH I don't like the decor ,although it is ready to move into and perfectly o.k, its just not my taste - Fitted wardrobes and a what looks from the pictures cheap wood floor, but we'll know more when we go.
It's priced at 175k , I initially thought £170k but doing a bit of homework I'm now thinking 166/167k, which I would be happy to pay. The stamp duty I was going to pay on my cc after completion, if I can get a 0% deal.
Thanks YukkiI can't be bothered updating this anymore0 -
Oh Iris that is fantastic news! I agree about chasing the solicitors as well - they can be dreadful; I nearly murdered someone while I was waiting for mine!
I hope the viewing and offering and negotiations (if you like it) go well.Mini Challenge - Halve 2nd Mortgage by Year EndStarting: £10,000 Currently £8,142.62£3,142.62 to go!0 -
Well we've been to view and really liked it. we've put an offer in off 162k which is lower than what I had expected to offer. This is because they really want to move due to a relationship breakup and because some of the window seals had gone and the noise from the road outside. The wood floor was nicer than in the photos. Hopefully we all could move very quickly.
It's a lovely house though so now we are just waiting to hear.I can't be bothered updating this anymore0 -
