Oh Froggy that is SOOoo tempting! (especially if its paid work too . It can all go against the mortgage! :D)

It certainly has been a roller-coaster of a time but hopefully its all over now.

Well I have good news ...We have just received a offer on the house, I'm thrilled :j but I rejected it as its too low. :( We have the house on the market at just under 128k, very competitively priced and the offer is 110k, much too low but I'm happy that we got one anyway.

I knew that she was interested when she came to view but seeing that my bathroom and toilet are separate she really didn't want to do the work of knocking down walls to make it all one. Its all down to personal choice at the end of the day as its far easier to have them separate when you have children. Who wants to be in the bath when the kids are desperate for the toilet! I can see where shes coming from though.

I really need to catch up on here and I also need to put the picture of Baby on before he turns one! I'm sorry but I will get round to it soon

    Have a good weekend all

    Iris

  • :D I prefer to have them as one to be honest. At least you have had one offer. I'm sure more will be following.

I hope you get a better offer. I think separate toilets and bathrooms really are down to personal choice but actually fit in well with modern family life.

Am sorry about your DH, no wonder you are completely stressed out.

Great overpayment by the way, even with everything you have going on you are still chipping away at that mortgage!

Thanks Cath, it doesn't feel like Im doing much atm but it all helps I suppose.

Thing is with houses, what would be a perfect house to you isn't necessarily someone else's ideal anyway. I think if she likes the house in general she may come back. A separate loo isn't that big a deal and if she weighs things up she will see that it doesn't matter!

I'm tempted to get rid of our downstairs loo to make a bigger kitchen, this idea horrifies some of my friends that i would even consider getting rid of it!

You're right Cath. I explained that to her when she was here. She thought it was a big job to change it whereas I don't think that. I did this house up on my own , designed the extension , put new bathroom and kitchen in, replastered etc. its nothing to get builders in if you want to get the house you want. The lady who put the offer in is young though and not everyone can be bothered or know what to do to change things.

I could do with a downstairs toilet in the next house. ( dream house) Although I dont think I'd like another toilet to clean with all these males ! I don't need one in this one as its a 3 bed semi. If you'd gain a lot more kitchen space then its worth it Cath. Are you in the house you want to be in or do you plan to move in the future ?

By the way I bought DD ( nearly 15 months) a pink 3 ft Christmas tree today at tesco reduced from £5 to £2.50 and its got me excited for christmas! Its a bit pink but she'll love it

You've done well with the house Iris. When we bought this (nearly 6 years ago) we made a massive jump - 2 bed mid terrace to 3 bed detached in much better area. Thought we'd live here forever! I have been tempted by moving as our 3rd bedroom is tiny and I really liked a fairly new build but was awkward for DH for work etc. Last year we converted garage to a playroom and I honestly don't know how we would have managed without it! Other plans are to redo kitchen with possible extension, new bathroom, new garage roof, new boiler etc so moving seemed more cost effective but we are in a good area here for schools, transport links etc. I think i'd felt it had to be our forever house or had to move right now! I think we can think again in about 5 years and see what's going on with income etc (mine should rise a fair bit in the next 5 years). I am not ruling out another move but when we bought this we really did think it was our 'forever house'

phew, that was a long repsonse.....sorry Iris!!

Christmas tree sounds very festive - she will love it! My DD (aged 2) has informed me that father christmas is bringing her a little tykes car (have checked and at £49 he better be bringing it because i'm not!) :p

Thank you so much Iris - have just phoned my Tescos and they have put one aside for me. It's for work :rotfl:. One of my staff loves pink, one won't care and the other is a man :D. We were counting on growing our own from seed but as it's only 2cm tall I don't think we'd get many lights on it :o.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
