but....he said he will call me on Friday to let me know where he is so that I can go and see him for a chat. So to me that says I havent got a red light...yet. Still on tenterhooks
Try and relax
I'd mention it as little as possible, answering any questions he directs at you truthfully, but not going into more detail than is necessary.
Chances are it won't be a total deal breaker as he still wants to talk to you - keep us posted.0 -
Just read through your thread and got to say well done, also good luck with getting this new job sorted.
Just a couple of suggestions
On the girlfriend front have you tried online dating, sounded a bit weird to me when someone suggested it and I forgot about it at the time. But gave it a try when I was really fed up of being on my own and it worked for me, been seeing my good lady for nearly 3 years now, Most are free for the first month too.
Also on the car front have you thought of carrying out the servicing on your car yourself. I do all the servicing on my own car and its a lot easier than you think plus you get some satisfaction out of it. All you need is a Haynes manual and there will probably be a forum for your car if you need advice/help. A lot of the time if you have a problem with the car its a 30 second fix, always best to have a quick look yourself first/ have a check on a forum to see if people have had similar issues.0 -
Was meant to go to see about that job last Friday, but didn't get a call, so I called them this morning and they apologised saying they were very busy on Friday, but that I should go to see them this Friday instead. So the new job could still be on, depending on how I come across on Friday
Looking to save £140.00 on the 25th of this month, so once more I'll be in the 1k club :j God it's taken a while to get back there - or that's what it feels like.Total in ISAs = £8,863.500 -
Good news on both fronts! Well done for chasing them up too, it shows you are keen.
I love this thread - it's so inspirational and I can't wait until I'm in the 1k club too (though paying off my debts first so it's going to be a while). Congratulations:j:beer: - make mine a lime soda
Not buying any more 1.)books 2.)toiletries, esp. LUSH! 3.)stationery, unless absolutely necessary!0 -

WD mate - I'm currently trying to save up my first £1k again (not including our deposit savings) on half of my current wage as OH isn't working. I'd forgotten how hard it was! I'm currently paying the 'odds' from my current account into the ISA every night and saving 50% of any additional payments I get. Still, £450 or so and climbing slowly but surely...0 -
cashbackproblems wrote: »Well done with the savings, people dont realise alot of people like urself who dont get a good education/jobs or big parent handouts for deposits have a tough life but you are making the most of it and not relying on the social to get you through. If you have any ambition to get your own place the priority has to be on getting some better training and jobs, make sure u have a good cv and looking beyond the jobcentre as these are mostly manual labour/cleaning kind of work. Also you are lucky u dont live down south as uv have no chance of getting on the property ladder.
I too have done this! I left college at 18 with a GNVQ in Science & some other useless qualifications and no work experience, I then got an office junior job and stayed there for 6 years! Although I moved up through the company, my salary never increased as much as it should have. Last year on realising I was almost 25 I decided I was going to get myself out of that routine job and get some formal qualifications in accounting, as that is what I did at work. It was the best thing I have EVER done! I started the course in September and in March I left my old job for another job with a 4K per annum rise plus full payment & support for my future studies and regular payment reviews. I now intend to continue studying to increase my prospects. My only regret is I did not do it sooner. Good Luck!0 -
plenty of fish.com is a good dating site, i signed up with them a while ago and there were some decent people i met (as friends) but its free to use and i would definately recommend it. meetup.com is also good for meeting people:T:T  :beer::beer: to the lil one

Well done fruityfairy, I hope I can follow your lead and move forwards, starting with landing that job tomorrow
I saw in the newspaper today an advert for sky tv, with the sports channels and it said less than £40.00 pm, which I thought was quite good actually...what do you guys think? Can you get this deal cheaper elsewhere? I want the sports channels as I love watching football, esp. Leeds.
I will also be £30.00 better off in Oct. as my car insurance is due to drop (did an online check the other day) - so that will almost cover the sky tv, plus I have hurt my rib playing football, so may 'freeze' my swimming membership, thusly freeing up a further £33.00 pm.
Plus I've heard you can cancel sky tv at any time, so you are not tied into it. It's all sounding pretty good to me so far...Total in ISAs = £8,863.500 -
It sounds fair enough if you would get your money's worth - staying in to watch footy instead of going to the pub. Just make sure you go through Topcashback if you do decide to go for it - you'll get at least £50.50 cashback, depending on which package you took, ie if you got phone, broadband, HD etc - check it out
