    Hi all,

    So the plan is this:
    1. Get my expected leave date (annouced first week in March)
    2. Apply to as many jobs as possible 6 weeks in advance of this date
    3. Get full redundancy payment and walk straight into a new (and hopefully higher paid) job

Running alongside this I will also apply for housing benefit when I have my leave date so this is covered, should I be unsuccessful in securing continual employment.

    Sound ok?

I know people have advised applying for jobs right away, but I feel this would definitely place my severance pay at risk.

P.s. the 6 weeks timeframe is because I have to give 4 weeks notice, plus roughly 2 weeks closing date on job vacancies.
    Total in ISAs = £8,863.50

spamtastic - there I was thinking, 'Ahh, good. mw update', but we'll just say Great Minds etc.
I saw a little while back that mw hasn't visited since early April, which is indeed those 6 wks after #713.
Let's hope that pys 1,2,3 have all tumbled perfectly into place and that mw goes from strength to strength.

mw - regardless of how things are, please pop in from time to time and let us know.

Wishing you very, very well - all good things to you, &
