Amazing thread, I've read the whole thing over the last day or two and I am seriously impressed. You're doing a fab job, keep up the good work!0

Thank you! It's been quite a journey so far. Aiming for £9k by year end but am £60 off target. Don't know where that will come from in 2 monthsTotal in ISAs = £8,863.500

Especially in these days of 'easy' switching, they want to attract customers. They know that many people won't bother to move on.I am one of the Dogs of the Index.0 -
Good point. I was thinking about opening the YBS curr acc at 4% to £3k aswell. Anyone know the conditions of this account?Total in ISAs = £8,863.500

It's Yorkshire Bank (YB), not Yorkshire Building Society (YBS). Two entirely different animals.
There's a long thread about this account : https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/47983460 -
Hi all, bit of a moan coming up (apologies in advance).
So far this month I've had to turn down a football match and a night out, the joys of living within your means! Sometimes it's bloody hard to stick to. I know it's worth it though. Can just get a bit depressing at times, for example this weekend I won't be doing much at all. Apart from a bit of coursework, my highlight will be the xfactor and maybe a couple of cans.
I also sometimes wish I didn't live out of a room at àge 29, it's a bit degrading. Doing the best I can really and hoping for the best.Total in ISAs = £8,863.500 -

If it makes you feel any better, my uncle is on a low income and still lives at home at the age of 50+! All things are relative - at least you have your own space!0 -
Try not to get depressed MW. You've done brilliantly so far and loads of people who read this thread also think so too. Each weekend sat watching the x factor instead of going out is a step closer to affording your own place. Who knows, maybe at the end of your course you might pick up a better paid job. How much are 2 bed houses where you are? Maybe you could think about one which needs a bit of doing up, and get a mate/lodger for the other room? Would certainly help towards your mortgage in the early years.
Keep positive!#39 - Save £12k in 20250
