I am looking to buy a 1995 RENAULT CLIO 1.2 RL Oasis 3dr Hatchback, They have said name a price (as they're family friends)
& I have no idea what its worth.

Its done 60,000 miles on the clock,
No MOT, its been off the road (as they dont use it)
Lost the car keys - No Spare
No Rust, & engine looks in good nick, but couldnt really say that until its had its MOT
Tyres arnt worn,
Good exterior
and only has 3 wheel trims

I know its not a lot of info but roughly what would you pay?
Help me!

    Scrap value really.

    £50
  • Really not a lot.
£50 tops, it's only worth scrap value.

£100 max, assuming there is nothing else wrong with it.

    ( Not that I would buy a Renault ).:)
  • its a 15 year old car with relatively low mileage, which isnt a good thing

if its been off the road you could drive it out and discover a whole manner of issues with it, will you be taking it for a spin first?

tbh when people say name a price i just tell them to forget it, you never know if you are offering too little or too much and they should know how much they want for it. they should be telling you, so you can decide if you want it or not

It's French, steer clear, even if it's free!

Its not worth anything - you are in effect buying-in work. Coupled with it being from a family friend, be polite and say no thanks (if you want to stay friends).
  • No MOT on a 15 yr old car means its scrap value. Then it has no keys? So erm, I'd be asking THEM to pay YOU to remove it lol.

These are good little cars actually, not a lot to go wrong with them.

Quite well spec'd for their time too, and a hoot to drive.
