I am so mad at my postman

On the claim form P58 for for lost or damaged mail, section 5 asks if you are the sender or recipient so I presume you can claim for the damage. You will need to keep all packaging and possibly the COP from the sender.0

Why do that? It's a rigmarole. The seller claims, the buyer gets refunded straight away.0

The seller has done nothing wrong. Neither has the buyer. But the seller is always responsible.0

Very good point!
It was packed safely by the seller, as it arrived unbroken. If post had to be waterproof just incase anything is left in the rain, why are envelopes made of paper?
Because they are put safely through the letter box and not left out in the rain.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. How can a seller be responsible if they pack correctly, use the correct postal method and the item is delivered? The damage was caused by an incompetent postie. If the seller claimed for the damage they would have to supply all the packaging. The seller has done nothing wrong. Neither has the buyer. But the seller is always responsible.0 -
I can't see how it's the sellers fault at all,the postie shouldn't leave any parcels outside your property unless its something you have arranged between the 2 of you and even then it sounds like he/she has left it in a stupid place!!
My postie leaves my parcels in my recycling bin (except on collection day!) but thats something we've agreed between us.0 -
I get really annoyed when my postman leaves parcels in my bin! For one thing I don't always get a card through the door to tell me (unbelievable I know) and for another thing I have pets and there are things in my bin that are stinky!!! Ewww!
