Oh dear found my diary on page 9. Life has been somewhat hectic and things have been getting complicated - can't really say more but we are coping at the moment so fingers crossed but its meant I haven't been on MSE much.

On an exciting note :j:j:j :jwe have made some OPs and the mortgage is now below £20000 :j:j:j:j £19911 to be exact. Feels great to have dropped below another milestone . I started this diary almost 3 years ago and at that point the mortage was £52000 so we have done well I think to get it down as we are both part-time at work.

I'm off work tomorrow so will try and post again and do a bit more of a catch up

Thanks Poppy - hope life is ok with you? Ah being a teenager, if I knew then what I know now etc etc.......

Had a good weekend, was a bit spendy but all budgeted for. Went to a local festival and a show rather than the Edinburgh Festival! Also had 2 meals out - yum, OH finally got a roast dinner that he enjoyed :-)

Poor old boy cat has been poorly - some kind of bacterial infection the vet thinks. Got antibiotics for him and they seem to have done the trick - he was very sneezy, snuffly and sleepy but is definitely on the mend today.

Went up the street with OH today and paid in a couple of very small cheques and did a bit of shopping - coffee and a scone was had as well. Back to do some gardening and weeding - pleased with the number of bees and hover flies that have visited, they seem to love the corn flowers, snap dragons and the hosta flowers. Still got some plants in bud - ones I grew from seed so hope they flower soon. The night scented stock has been lovely, the smell reminds me of my dad as he used to grow it too.

Tea from the freezer and fridge - pan fried salmon steaks, creamed cauli and green beans. Definitely cooler at nights up here and getting darker earlier. Listed some books on Amazon this evening and half watched TV. Am off to bed now - working in the big city tomorrow so better sharpen my elbows - I'm so grumpy when I'm trying to get to work!!

Bit of a spendy weekend again :o. Lunch with various rellies on Friday but just had a coffee and sandwich so not to bad - OH just wanted a coffee.

The cat is much better now and seems fully recovered BUT will now only eat expensive food . He had Sheba when he was poorly as the vet suggested strong smelling food would help [which it is]. Now he will leave his usual food to rot in the bowl rather than eat it so have had to stock up on the expensive tins.

Went to Mr T today and got a new duvet and pillows - existing one was a good age and all the filling kept collecting down one end :p. Did a double up on some vouchers and had a coupon so got £19 off in the end. Also got some masonry paint on special offer for the new wall but will need to wait for the plants to die off before we paint it.

Weekend seems to have flown by - working tomorrow so better get some sleep. Have a good week everyone :D

Quick post before I head off to the station - its my late night at work tonight so starting a bit later. We've had some very mixed weather up here the last week. Quite a few days with the haar coming right in and though its not been cold it blocks the sun out. Yesterday was lovely though and lots of butterflies about much to the delight of the cat who tracks them round the buddleia - little horror. Today its back to being cloudy and dull so I decided against doing a washing before I went to work in case it rains.

Had a quiet weekend catching up with things a bit and took several more bags to the recycling so we are getting rid of 'stuff' slowly. Also did a shopping at Mr A but sadly already 10% cheaper than other supermarkets :(

Bought myself a nice new bag at the weekend - nothing fancy but will be good for work.

Heard last week there is to be another cut in hours at one of my jobs, it won't affect me till next year but thats a bit of a blow.

Hope everyone is doing ok and OPing away where possible :rotfl:. Better go and get changed for work.....

Bah just lost a long post so will try again.... Not posted for a while as life has been quite hectic and I've been too tired.

We've made a few OPs since my last post - mostly small ones and a bigger one from OH so we are now down to £18999 :D.

Busy day today I had an Amazon sale to post and got a few bits of shopping when I was out. Amazon has been busy for the last few weeks and sales have been steady [I am saying this very quietly]. Sold another one this afternoon which I'll post on Monday if the PO is open. Its a holiday up here on Monday but I'm working as I didn't realise in time and made some appointments. I've had a cancellation in the middle of the day so might go shopping as I've got some vouchers and need to get a warm top as its getting chilly now.

Mind you it was lovely today and warm - hard to believe its horizontal rain and 60 mile an hour gales forecast for tomorrow. I did lots of washing and got it all dried. Have put everything away in the garden that might get blown away. Sat out in the sun for a while and had a cuppa and admired the flowers which are looking good but may not last :(. There were lots of bees and butterflies out too and the cat failed miserably to catch any of the latter

OH was working all day so we didn't have a chance to go to Mr A so thats tomorrows job if we can dodge the showers and gales

Survived the trip to Mr A in the very windy weather on Sunday - the horizontal rain had stopped by the afternoon. I did hang on tight to the notes when they came out of the ATM though as its a very windy corner off the A1 where Mr A resides! Going to have some freezer meals this week so it wasn't too spendy - nothing on the price guarantee sadly :p. To be fair it didn't seem to be quite as windy as forecast which is good, there were one or two bits blown into the garden from who knows where and my bean plant kept being blown over so is currently wedged upright between several garden chairs and the wall.

Got up early and put the bin out then rushed around getting ready - got a text to say my first appointment was cancelled about 20 minutes before I went for the train.......... and relax. Sold 4 books on Amazon over the weekend which is loads for me so posted them locally before getting the train for my one remaining meeting [2 cancelled]. Rushed round Debenh@ms to look for a warm top or two with my vouchers, got a couple of things but am so rubbish and impatient with clothes shopping I'll probably end up taking them back .

Counted up some change from the pigs, cow and cat banks and should have about £50 to pay in on Wednesday which can be an OP. Have a day off and am hoping to get my haircut as well.

For a day off its been very busy :rotfl:. Out this morning, took a bag of books and mugs to the charity shop, paid in some cash to work account, took my specs in to optician to find out if they can be recoated as the reactolite bit has gone all crackly, [they have been sent away to find out - luckily I still have an old pair], did some shopping at the butcher for OH, paid in a cheque and some change at the bank and got my haircut.

Home for lunch and after tidying up did some admin for work which took a while - lots of emails etc. Did an OP of £30 of the change I paid in earlier :D. As heavy rain is forecast for the next couple of days decided I'd better cut the grass. It was a bit wet near the fence where it doesn't get much sun but otherwise ok. Did a bit of weeding and tidying too. The flowers seem to have mostly survived the windy weather. I've got 3 cyclamen still to plant so need to clear a space for them. The others look lovely - really bright colours.

Off to bed now - cat is snoring already
