That was scary; now to tackle the remaining mortgage

Heard an interview with Iain Banks and he said he was feeling loved and respected (or words to that effect) while he was alive something that most folk only hear about after their death so that was some comfort I hope. He did seem a nice bloke.Mortgage OP 2025 £6250/7000Mortgage OP 2024 £7700/7000

Busy week at work - some one off meetings and bits of work so that all helps with the cash flow
. Had a day off on Wed and met up with sis and we went out for lunch at the garden centre. Managed not to buy any plants as have loads growing from seeds. New fence finally finished on Friday so expecting the bill for that and it'll need to be painted at some point as well.
Bought some wine and chocolate cupcakes for a treat over the w/e - yum yum all been decluttered. After that had a NS weekend so pleased with that. Think we've been having the best of the weather. Was watching the tennis and it was really wet and cold down south but we had lovely sunshine all day again.
Still waiting to hear from the Hali about our OP amount so no news on that front. Did the meter readings and submitted them online, looks like we are slightly in credit this time which os a relief after having to pay extra over the DD last time .
OH is away for work tonight and back tomo - I need to be up around 6am for work :eek: so will pootle off to bed now. Night all, have a good week everyone x0 -
oops where did the last two weeks go? Been v busy, some of it extra meetings and bits of work and also started going to see someone to try and get my back sorted out a bit as its been really bothering me. I've had 3 appts a week for the first two weeks and thats taken up lots of time with hanging about before and after - the bus service is very infrequent and its in the next town. Its definitely helping and I'm not so tired or in as much pain but its not a miracle cure.
Did a Tesc@ on line shop for the first time as we had a leaflet with £12 off a £60 shop. Also had a doublle points voucher and a few others as well. We got a 5p a litre off petrol voucher as well which is valid to the end of July.
Today was my birthday so we went out for lunch - OH had roast dinner but wasn't very impressed - apparently I do a better dinner . Had some wine and cake tonight and just remembered in time before the wine kicked in, to move the mortgage money over so all safely done [I think ]. Not been great on the weather front up here - very windy and quite chilly, the garden chairs have been ending up blown all over the place and the poor plants are looking the worse for wear.
Am off work now for a week :j so looking forward to that. Have an eye test tomorrow as definitely need more help with small print. At least they are free up here. The cat has just arrived back so will head off to bed. Hope everyone has a good week x0 -

Had my eye test on Mon - not much difference apparently and the optician said that I didn't need new glasses which was a result
. Also took cat to vet for his jags and as he was being sick a lot checked it was ok to give him some stomach meds beginning with 'Z' to try and settle his tum. So he's on that for a week and it seems to be helping.
Been a bit of a mixed week weather wise up here and a few quite wet and very windy days but its been lovely today. Wasn't able to get as much done in the garden in my week off as I'd hoped so theres still lots to catch up on. Had quite a few strawberries out of the garden which were lovely and the birds have had some too.
Glad to see there are quite a few more bees around this week, had hardly seen any but some of the flowers they are very atracted to have finally opened [albeit later than usual] and there are lots buzzing about .
Still not heard back from Hali - we wrote over a month ago so might have to resort to phoning them. When it updated online we have just gone below £21000 owing so its disappearing slowwllly.
Forgot to say in my round up of last week that I've lost another bit of work as the agency I worked for lost its funding so has had to close downfeels like a real shame for everyone as it was a well thought of service.
Hoping for another nice day tomorrow - might visit the garden centre as I have birthday vouchers
Forgot to say - way to go Andy Murray, excellent match am looking forward to the final on Sunday0 -

Happy belated birthday!
and didn't Andy Murray do well?0 -
Hi Beckyy
He did so well, must have been exhausting in that heat. Its been a long time coming :j0 -
Hi Lois, Poppy and Beckyy
Well the Murray frenzy has died away a bit and round here they are gearing up for the golf - fraid it doesn't interest me at all.
Not a lot going on on the money saving front. I did get a £10 voucher back from L@keland as I complained about the state of the box my sister's birthday present arrived in - the box was already opened and the tape all crumpled upso that was a result. Thinking of using it to get some of their window cleaning stuff as its got good reviews.
Had a back appoitment this morning and then met a friend for lunch and we sat by the sea after and watched the boats go by . Lovely.
Quite a bit done in the garden over the weekend, more weeding and some bedding plants in. They are on the point of flowering but not quite so lots of buds ready to burst open.
Good weekend on Amazon too, 3 decent sales and then another one this morning so all posted. Long day at work tomorrow so am off to bed now but its so hot again not sure I'll get much sleep.0
