Apparently you can make wine with dandelion flowers ;)

£85 for 5 minutes work is definitely a bit  Even with the cost of the brushes taken into account he must be on a good rate per hour!!

I always find the 1st of the month a bit frustrating, as the interest goes on the mortgage so the balance goes UP & the Reward payment doesn't show up ~ the 2nd of the month is much better :D

Doesn't eating dandelions make you wee? I have enough trouble in that direction just with cups of tea :o

Did two lots of bedding in repaired w/m. Hung it on the line but not quite dry as it was a bit of a damp day but not raining IYSWIM. Washing seemed to build up so quickly even though it was only a few days without a w/m.

Most annoying having to wait 24 hours for an updated mortgage total - especially when the money shows as having left the other account.

Had a dry hair cut today so its much tidier and only cost half of what it normally does cos I didn't have it washed. Annoyed with myself - dropped my shower gel when showering and it split and went EVERYWHERE, it was a new one too, only used it a couple of times.

Meant to say we had a bird of prey sitting on our fence a few days ago - not sure what kind but fierce looking. Am glad the cat was inside - might have been like the teabag ad with Jonny Vegas and Monkey :rotfl: [deffo wasn't an eagle though :rotfl:]

I thought it was if you picked dandelions it made you wet yourself!! :rotfl: Funny how these old wives tales change slightly, although isn't dandelion a diuretic, so maybe there is some truth in them after all!! :D

Well, mortgage has been updated :j It's never what I think it's going to be though  I think I know what the daily interest is, but then the balance doesn't tally?! Is yours the same, teapot, or is it just me losing my marbles?! :o

Eek about the bird of prey!! I heard on the radio just yesterday that red kites are swooping on owners & their pets ~ I don't know if it's just to scare them off (if there's chicks around) or if they're planning on having the pets as a meal!! Definitely keep an eye on your [STRIKE]Monkey[/STRIKE] cat.

Ah diuretic thats the word - I was thinking it was eneuretic but I knew that wasn't right so in the end I just put 'wee'! I think you can put the leaves of young dandelions in salad but I don't fancy that for aforesaid and other reasons ;).

Turned out to be a warm and sunny afternoon but I just sat in the sun after I got back from work as I CBA to do any weeding :o Naughty.

The monkey is lying on a chair upside down with his legs up the back of the chair looking very cute and fluffy so safe from eagles and kites for the moment.

I have given up trying to work out what the mortgage will be as its always more than I thought it would be. I always check the annual statement when we get and the OP are all there and correct.

Just going to put some macaroni in the oven - nomnom

Was away at the weekend so not updated for a while - niece's hen night. Was a bit apprehensive as I didn't know most of the folk going but they were all very nice and I wasn't the only oldie there :rotfl:. We stayed in a lovely hotel which was very comfortable and friendly. Bit of an expense though even with group train travel and hotel booking as I bought some new clothes for it too. Still had been able to save up as I'd known for ages we were going. Think I'm just programmed now not to spend money ;).

So thats the limit of my rock and roll lifestyle as it was OH's birthday on Tues and we just went out for afternoon tea :rotfl:. He's got tickets for a show tomo for his birthday which I bought ages ago.

Really nasty weather here yesterday - horizontal and very wet rain [IYSWIM], kept on for the whole day. Drier this morning so I popped out to pay in a cheque and post an Amazon sale before buying some veg and bread etc. Heavens opened and it poured again - really cold too brrrr. The cat isn't even bothering to ask about going out and is curled up on a bed - very sensible.

I bought some stuff to make risotto - asparagus and peas I think and will also make a thai curry so that should be some warming comfort food.

It was a fairly warm afternoon on Wednesday though so I weeded a bit of the front garden when I got back from work. Still more to do but I got out all the grass that was crowding the plants so it looks much better. I hope to be able to plant something in the spaces before the weeds colonise it again.

I might list some more books on Amazon next or then again I might go and have another cup of tea :rotfl:

Pants weather again today - really windy up here, had to go round the garden picking up everything that had been blown around and put a brick on top of the brown bin as the lid kept being blown open.

Made my thai curry which did 2 meals and was very yum and have some veg left over for another meal so need to think what to make. We did a small shop at Mr A on Sat as OH is away quite a lot. Tried the price guarantee today and got a voucher for 8p - better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick I guess.

Cat is very fed up its either been wet or windy except for yesterday which was sunny but the pipeband contest was on nearby and I think he found it a bit much as he was despereate to get back inside - bless :rotfl:.

Yesterday seemed to fly by and though I felt busy didn't seem to get lots done. I did change beds and get washing out and dried which is good. Also sorted out our mahoosive file of mortgage papers and I have more paperwork to tackle in a minute . Procrastinating on here? Moi?

Better go and get on with it - have a good week all, Teapot x

Goodness - Sunday again, the week has flown by. Been quite busy with work, unfortunately quite a bit of it unpaid :p. The weather has continued to be very wet with hail stones and sleet thrown in until today :j. We have blue skies and some sun though still not all that warm here on the coast. Think I'll get some gardening done today [for that read pulling up huge weeds]. I've seen some plants at Mr A that are quite reasonably priced for multibuys. They don't look after them very well but I reckon I can salvage some and bring them on before planting so they should be fine. Hopefully if the warmer weather stays the grass might dry out enough to cut later in the week too.

Managed a bit of socialising in the week with sis and also a couple of friends and it was good to catch up. Invited out on Fri for pub evening but didn't go as couldn't really afford it. Got a CC bill due for a couple of hundred and also need to pay for 2 workshops I've to go on that are work related - have to do a certain amount every year. Thats going to leave the account pretty squeaky again . I realise that I'm making enough to pay bills but theres not enough coming in to build up my account or transfer to savings so I need to think about that and what to do.....

Had a good fortnight on Amazon which helps but its gone quiet again on there too. I need to sort out a new ISA in the next few weeks for both of us - the higher rate we've got at the mo comes to an end in June. Ah well off out next to tackle the weeds. Hope the sun is shining for you all today.

Bum, bum, bum, just lost a great long post . Ah well the jist of it was that I dug up a really big bag of weeds and grass from the front border [On reading that back it sounds like there was a bag of weeds buried in the garden - what I mean of course is that I filled a big bag with the weeds I dug up.....]. Had to do 2 stints as I can't cope with bending for more than about 20 mins as my back gets too sore. In between I sat in the back garden with the cat - both of us dozing in the sun... nice. Still got one huge clump of grass to dig out but couldn't manage any more today.

As I mentioned earlier in the diary we had a cat flap fitted in the back gate for his lordship but he still won't use it for going out, only for coming in ;). He still hangs perilously off the top of the eight foot fence by his claws so he can see if there are any bad dogs or naughty kittens waiting for him in the street :rotfl:.

Work tomorrow - got some clothes to take back for a refund in the big city. Think I'm shrinking as even 'short' trousers are too long for me now .

Wonder if I dare discard a layer or leave my jacket at home tomorrow - probably not, takes me a few days to trust in the weather improving so I'll just sweat my way there and back .

Hope everyone has a good week, Teapot x

Haha, me too ~ I've bought myself a maxi dress to wear to an upcoming wedding & it is sooooo long ~ I'm going to have to get some seriously high heels to wear with it!! :rotfl:

I've been thinking about cat food (as you do) & I'm wondering if it will work out cheaper to buy individual tins of food instead of the mixed pouches in a box?? I'm not using 3 out of 12 sachets because my 'lordship' won't eat one particular flavour out of said box :( Will have to do some costings...

Hope you're well, teapot, sounds like your weather is a lot nicer than ours.

LOL maybe we should both take up stilt walking :rotfl:Mind you I can't do heels these days either never mind stilts :o.

Have you not got the sunshine where you are Poppy - it seems to be cooler and quite misty each morning here then the sun breaks through and it gets really warm for the rest of the day [well for the last three days anyway]. Got lovely yellow Poppies out in the garden - think they are Welsh Poppies? They self seeded a few years ago and reappear mixed in with daisies which open wide when the sun is out :D

I only buy pouches of fish in jelly for our lordship as he doesn't eat beef or duck. He will also eat chicken flavoured dry food which he has available all the time. Haven't tried tins recently but seem to remember years ago they weren't that popular with our cats once they were opened but they may have improved?
