Woohoo to the sunshine ~ it's been boiling here today :j Actually far too hot to be doing that << haven't done much at all really if I'm honest!!

Glad your cat seems to have perked up ~ funny that your OH had the same medicine!! :rotfl: Our cat is the same with jumping ~ he would much rather squeeze under a fence than jump off it, even though we have strategically placed bins to make things easier for him. Next door has what looks like an extra large mouse hole cut out of the bottom of their garden gate for their cat to get through, I've been thinking of doing the same with ours.

Well done on the OP & getting down into the £34000's :T

How is your mog doing Poppy? Think ours might be going off his wet food again, he did that before and would only eat dry stuff.

Bit cooler here today as there's more of a breeze so did a bit in the garden again - weeding, grass cutting and tidying up. Also washed some windows upstairs, still got one big one to do plus the veluxes but that can wait for another day.

I did think about a large 'mouse hole' in the gate but we have wild rabbits round here and I suspect they would get in the garden and munch the veg. They are around late at night and in the very early morning otherwise you don't see them. Our boy won't jump on the bins, he is quite nervous so not sure what he thinks will happen?

Your sig OPs are looking good :D - you still thinking of moving north?

He's been eating the meat but is still fussy with the flavours!! One day he'll eat the chicken, next day he walks away from it!! He's so frustrating ~ good job I like him!! :D

Scorchio here ~ I think I've got sunburn on my arms & my freckles have come out on my nose!!

He probably saw that news report a while back where a woman pretended to stroke a cat & then stuffed the poor thing in a wheelie bin!! :(

Yes I saw that in your sig and wondered - do you have a timescale?

Not sure what will happen when we are MF. If all goes to plan it should happen in about 3 years if not sooner and I'll be 60ish . As we took out our first mortgage aged 50 thats not bad going. I'd like to be in the position of not having to work all the time though no chance of us retiring early :p.

It would be a big relief to get shot of it really as who knows what might happen re health as we get older and TBH our life is a bit precarious at times in terms of being able to carry on as we are. Hence the need for a plan B & C :D.

Bit of travelling would be good and we might eventually downsize as well.

No definite timescale, just vague wishful-thinking :o [STRIKE]My[/STRIKE] Our grand plan is to be MF in 5 years, by which time our DDs will be finished, or almost finished their education (depends if they go to University). Then we sell this house, DH puts his notice in & we move to Scotland :j Sounds so simple doesn't it :rotfl: I know the reality will be very different ~ we will still need to work for a good few years, but I want DH to get a much less stressful job than he's doing at the moment as I do worry about him :(

You have done really well with your mortgage ~ 10 years (or less ;)) rather than the usual 25 year 'life sentence' :rotfl: As you said, not bad going :T

Where do you fancy travelling?? Will you stay in the same area if you do decide to downsize??

Getting quite chilly tonight - just put the wheelie bin out [oh the glamour] and its well nippy. We've got the heating on for a wee while too. Snow forecast for later in the week - just as well I didn't put my woolies away; 'ne'er cast a cloot' etc etc.

Cat is not impressed with the cat flap, I think he likes to be high up so he can see whats going on and doesn't want to emerge at ground level. Ah well at least its there for him.

Last weeks shop did last most of the week despite OH's hollow legs. We went to Mr A today and they are doing the £5 off £40 shop again so will print off a voucher tomorrow.

Got quite a busy week, am off on Friday but working every day up till then. Tuesday is normally a day off but got a bit of work so needs must. Looks like I might lose a bit more work in the next couple of months so hope something else comes along to replace it. Heard last week that I'm not going to have my sessional work which was cut by a quarter reinstated so that has gone for good :p.

Amazon is complete pants for me at the moment - began to wonder if I'd inadvertently put it on holiday settings. Am going to list a few books now to try and kick start it.

Moved some money around over the weekend to get Reward cash, mortgage will come out tomorrow so should see on Tuesday what the new figure is.

Hi Poppy, good to have a plan and a dream even if it still seems vague ATM. I know what you mean about stressful work - OH isn't really happy in his job as its changed so much from when he first started but there's so little work about so he's stuck with it at the moment. At least I like my work even though its a bit precarious being self employed. Has your OH tried for any other jobs?

Not planning on major travels just a few places we'd like to see - we went to Barcelona a few years ago and would love to go back, there's so much to see. I'd like to go to Iceland though its expensive I think so a short trip would be likely. I'll say the following very quietly; OH is an Elvis fan and has always wanted to go to Graceland so if we had the cash that might be another one for his bucket list :rotfl:

Probably stay in the same town, I have a very small family and most of it is here! We've got quite a big house so could do with fewer rooms to clean :D and its expensive to heat as theres lots of glass.

Just popping in to say hi. I enjoy the way you describe your life - the description of the cat not being impressed made me smile.

Hope another opportunity comes up soon for your OH to apply for.
