Aw thanks Stedwell, hows things going with you?

I guess the positive side of being a 'glass half empty' person is that you can be delighted when things go unexpectedly well and totally unsurprised when they don't - 'cos thats what you knew would happen :rotfl:

Snow a go go here today . It didn't lie as it was raining most of the night. Bitterly cold wind and hail stones made for an arctic journey to work. The bleeping tram works are driving me mad - they keep diverting the buses quite long distances from their usual stops. I harumphed to the stop I thought I could get a bus from only there was yet another diversion/road closure and so it was another half mile of double harumphing down the road by which time I couldn't feel my toes..... and relax.

I finally got some sales on Amazon today so have those wrapped to post tomorrow :j. Not done much since I got in, made one pot mince and tatties for OH for next couple of days and stood holding the back door open while cat who is scared of the wind thought about whether he might go out [he never did]. Watched CSI too, I quite like the bloke from Cheers who is the new boss.

Finished work for a few days and emailed a few invoices out re work I've done. Wasn't expecting there to be post today but there was including a cheque for my main March work :j. Its good it came before the Easter weekend as it takes nearly a week to clear into my account as it has to be posted then another 4 working days added on until its there. Rent for the office comes out on 12th so its a bit squeaky but should just about be ok :o. I'll nip to the PO tomorrow and hand it in - am hoping its open, think its just shut on Monday.....

Went to Mr A for shopping today and got £5 off a £40 shop. It was very busy there and we had to queue round the shop waiting to be directed to a checkout. Not seen it like that since Xmas.

Was hoping to hang out the washing and maybe change all the beds but its been raining on and off all day so just got some drying indoors. Not much else going on - quiet day so am going to make some soup, theres a squash lurking in the cupboard so need to do something with it. Think my niece is coming round tomorrow so it will come in handy for lunch.

Need to look into a new ISA for us both as well as the rate will plummet on the one we have.

Have a lovely Easter weekend everyone - enjoy the naughty choccy treats x

We don't get post delivered on a Good Friday any more, think it stopped a few years ago. At least you got your cheque & fingers crossed the Post Office is open today so that you can pay it in :)

Enjoyment of naughty choccy treats has already started here  It was just a little cheapie Cadbury's one though, honest :o

Have a lovely Easter break, hope the Easter bunny is good to you!! :icotbaske

Thanks Poppy, seems like Good Friday isn't taken much as a holiday up here - just the Monday some shops and the PO are shut. I got my cheque paid in so at least its winging its way....

Managed to get some washing dried outside yesterday although it wasn't particulalry bright and sunny. Also did quite a bit of weeding until there was a bit of a shower.

Got some yummy bread at the bakers yesterday and some macaroons which are small but very tasty. I resisted my chocolate bunny - could it be my non animal eating guilt :rotfl:. Noooo I succumbed today and ate about half of the egg OH gave me and feel a bit iccky now so have stopped. Healthy soup for lunch to counteract the choc feast ;). Just going to have a chilled out day.

Quite a busy week at work so am glad its the weekend. Also was niece's b'day yesterday and we went to a family get together to celebrate so my joy at it being the weekend may also be connected to the amount of bubbly stuff consumed ;).

Seems to be lots of birthdays this month, present needed for niece, posted a card to a friend yesterday, got a belated present in the week for BIL [they were away on the actual day], ordered a book on Amazon for another friend's brithday at the end of the month and then at beginning of May its OH and another good friend's on same day phew. Already got OH's pressie - tickets for a show as they tend to sell out quickly.

Got the car insurance renewal in and of course its gone up but OH is going to ring them on Monday to see if he can beat it down a bit. So, not sure if we can make much of an OP this month, just have to see. The insurance is due towards the end of the month so at least that can be spread over 2 months pay to lessen the pain IYSWIM. There is the option to pay monthly but that attracts quite a healthy fee for them - 11%. We could also see if there are any 0% cards kicking about too.

Got to go shopping later as the fridge is looking empty. I've got a punnet of plums to take back as I bought them 2 weeks ago and they haven't fulfilled their promise of ripening at home and are still like bullets :p.

Ah well another cup of tea calls me so might be back later x

Ooops never did come back :o. Did go shopping though and got a refund on the punnet of plums. I really should be more organised when shopping, I did have a list but hadn't looked in our freezer to see how much space there was [its v small]. I over estimated what we had space for and despite my efforts at freezer tetris which involved trying to fit boxes in end on etc and taking other items out of boxes it just wouldn't all fit :p.

In the end I defrosted a pack of sumer fruits and made rather nice smoothies with it. So everything that needs to be is now safely in the freezer and the air around it is slowly clearing from its blue colour .

I bought a ready made savoury pastry case and made a yummy leek, cheese and mushroom tart from what was in the fridge. That will do me for 2 days possibly lunch tomo as well. I've got a nigella recipe from her newsletter for kedgeree risotto which sounds rather good so might make that on Wed when we have visitors. Dont think Mr A does quails eggs though so ordinary ones will have to do :rotfl:. Got some undyed smoked haddock in freezer and think I might just need to get ground coriander or cumin as I know one of them has run out so will check that tonight.

We went out for lunch today at the garden centre and I looked at lots of plants but was very good and didn't buy, can still be very frosty here some nights. The violas we have are looking a bit rough but the wall flowers are lovely and cheery in a pot by the back door - several different shades of yellow :). It was a lovely sunny warm day here which wasn't what the forecast said it would be so that was a nice surprise. Hope to cut the grass tomorrow if its ok, got a bag full of weeds out yesterday but the recent rain and sun has meant they are springing up everywhere :p

OH rang about the car insurance but couldn't get it cheaper - he also tried elsewhere but they couldn't beat the quote so he paid up on CC.

Have a good week everyone not much work for me this week - only paid work on Thurs and unpaid Wed eve.

Hailstones again and freezing weather with fog - brrrr. I had put my gloves away but have got them out again as its so cold. Haven't managed to do anything in the garden 'cos of the weather and it doesn't look like improving any time soon.

Bit of a rubbish day at work with folk not turning up or cancelling on the day - means I get less pay :p.

Looking forward to the weekend though - got tickets for a concert for OH's birthday so we are going to that and staying in a hotel which is free as OH stays away a lot with work and gets points so we've cashed some of those in.

Not much else to report so am off to bed - woke up really early this morning so been tired all day. Night night.

 Be VERY careful . Last time we did that we ended up in a property exhibition and ended up buying our place in Spain 4 months later. Most expensive free night we ever had :o.

    And the best :D.

    Hope you enjoy it :T

  I consider myself warned :D. It'll be eyes front at all times - and no deviation to property exhibitions :rotfl:
