I purchase the Hi-Life tuna tins from Pet Planet. They are the cheapest 70% meat I've found, and my cats wolf them down.

My ladyship turns her nose up at products that have a lot of pork in them, which seems to be most of the sachets on the market.

I've checked, and fish are a complete food for cats, so no need to worry about the fact that is all they eat.

Well, rather large celebrations at Teapot Towers tonight - no its not a Eurovision party ;) .....

We now own 2/3 of our house [and an extra roof tile], our balance is £33,331.64 :beer::beer::beer:.
OH made an OP this week which took it down to about £80 over that figure but I couldn't stand that - so near and yet so far so yesterday I took £100 out of my emergency fund  and OP'd it. I knew I wouldn't get it exactly £33,333.33 because of pesky daily interest so thats where the extra tile comes in . I didn't think it would update online until Monday but there it was :D.

Well chuffed with our progress and I can work it all out without stressing my brain cell because our original loan was £100,000. So next stop own 3/4 and onwards and downwards to £25,000 .

Cocktail anyone - chin, chin :rotfl:

Hi teapot, had no internet for nearly a week!! I'm usually on the laptop several times a day so I've been climbing the walls desperate to know what everyone is up to!! :rotfl:

Congratulations on owning 2/3 of your house :j that's fab news!!

We have had really mixed weather here ~ boiling hot sunshine yesterday but on Sunday we had cold mist all day. We're on the coast so quite often get sea mist when everyone else is basking in sun ~ nice to get a sea breeze when it's really hot though ;)

Hi Poppy glad you're back on t'internet - amazing how much it is missed when not there. Took 6 weeks to get a phone line when we moved here so had to keep going to the library to get online - what a faff :p.

We often get that sea mist too, its quite a bit cooler here today but at least its not raining - did that for 24 hours on Friday .

Have a good weekend :D

Mortgage went out yesterday, I did wonder if all the holidays would mean the online banking wouldn't update until Wednesday  but it was updated today with the Rewards gone in as well. Mortgage is now at £32,707 :j.

On the slightly down side also got a letter from H@lifax yesterday saying they were going to reduce our monthly payment due to OPs so yet again will have to ring and tell them we are wanting to reduce the term not the payments .

I'm off over the next few days - really just because I don't have work and not due to any Jubilaciousness on my part. Its strange up here 'cos Monday is not a holiday, though things like the PO & Banks are shut, BUT Tuesday is a public holiday so some folk are off at the weekend, working Mon and off on Tues!

Have done a bit of weeding but need to do more and am fancying making some savoury muffins later as well. Think there will be a visit to the garden centre at some point as well this weekend. Hope everyone has a good weekend whatever they are up to xx

Yep, I thought we wouldn't get a mortgage update until the 6th but checked this morning, just in case ;) Glad we didn't have to wait!! :j

Is Jubilaciousness a real word?! If it isn't, it should be!! :rotfl:
My DH suggested a drive out to a lovely steam railway village this morning, until I reminded him that it will more than likely be having Jubilee celebrations as it's very much a touristy place & I can imagine they will go mad with bunting & flags ~ that soon put him off!! :rotfl:

Have a lovely, long weekend :)

Well not much sign of Jubilaciousness in this neck of the woods - one of the villages had some bunting up but its Gala time as well so it might have been for that. Also the garden centre was doing Jub. afternoon teas but thats it round here.

I got lots of plants for putting in pots and borders - the garden centre has a points scheme and I've been saving mine for aaaages so didn't have to pay anything for the plants :j.

Cleared about half of the border of weeds on Sat, did it carefully as there was a lot of bending and took lots of breaks to protect my back. Bent down yesterday to pick up something and felt it going a bit  not as bad as its been in the past so phoned physio for an appt but not heard back yet. Darent do any more gardening until I've been :(.

Savoury muffins were a success and orders to make them again. Also did a chicken and chorizo casserole for OH and poached a couple of bits of salmon for me - had one tonight with asparagus and jersey royals - yum.

Off again tomorrow - not much work this week so am catching up a bit with paperwork etc. Got an Amazon sale to post as well, have done a wee bit of listing books this w/e too.

Have a good [shortish] week everyone x

Goodness the weather is all over the place - I had started leaving layers at home but had to put them all back on this week. More blankets on the bed at night too as its too cold with just a summer duvet. Still at least we've not got the flooding like the poor souls in Wales - must be devastating to have all that smelly mud everywhere.

Still not heard from the physio so will have to chase her up on Monday - am working at some point every day next week so it might be tricky to fit in an appt but I need to go.

Still not got my plants in or any more gardening done partly because of the weather but also cos I don't want to make my back worse. I really can't afford to be off work at the moment.

Had our annual review from EON - dual fuel and they are refunding £180 so that will be an OP :j.

Doesn't look like work is about to pick up so am wondering if I should try to start doing surveys etc just to get a bit extra. I could use my net book for those. Not sure which ones are best to try?

Popped out today as had a good sale on Amazon to post - a book I've had listed for about 4 years! Also took some big clunkers I'd delisted to the book bank at the recycling centre. They'll never sell and the postage is too much now since the increase and I'd make a loss. I'll try and delist some regularly and hopefully that'll make it all more manageable. Also went to Mr A to stock up for the week and forgot to take my £5 off voucher :o:o. Its valid until next Sunday so can use it before then. Not like me to miss an opportunity for money off.

Cleaned out the fridge when we got back and hung out some washing as the rain had stopped and it had been too damp to dry indoors.

In keeping with my rock and roll lifestyle got some paperwork to do this evening or tomorrow. Will also cook some stuff for OH during the week when I'm out. Had a bit of a baking disaster. Made some muffins - recipe includes bicarb and the mixture grew and expanded in the oven and coated the racks; side of oven; door and floor of oven :eek::eek:. Mutant scary baking I calls it. This morning was spent levering lumps off the oven surfaces, decanting crumbs and lumps to the bird table and scrubbing it all down. Think I might list that baking book on Amazon & get rid!! :rotfl:
