Yaay for the eon refund!! Gas & electric are so expensive these days so it's nice to get something back.
Surveys I do ~ Valued 0pinions, 0nepoll & justthean$wer. VO is probably the better of the three as you can get payout (vouchers) at £10 & it doesn't take too long to reach that. OP is payout at £40 & takes me forever to reach that & I've never had a payout from jta since I joined last year!! I'm sure there's more lucrative surveys out there, I've just been too lazy to look into them!!
Lol at the mutant muffins :rotfl: but at least the birds got a meal out of it!!'A watched potato will never chit'...0 -
Thanks Poppy, I'll have a look at those surveys when I get a chance. Think there might be more info on the 'Up your income' board - that always sounds a bit ooer missus. Ama bit lazy about trawling through other boards and always get sidetracked by threads.
Yes, good news about EON even though it is our money they are giving back its good to get a lump sum. Was so cold today OH put the heating on for a while this morning. Think our 'summer' use will be up this time.
Birds are still receiving mutant muffins - none found under the bird table with legs in the air as yet0 -
I phoned [EMAIL="Halif@x"]Halif@x[/EMAIL] in the week to say NOOOOO don't reduce the monthly DD because of our OPs so they have put the amount back to what it was - don't they want us to pay off the mortgage early
.
My work for tomorrow is cancelled as someone is off sick so can do more catching up as I never did get round to doing that paperwork.
Also got some mince so will make some mince and tatties for OH as I'm out 2 nights this week. One is working and the other eve to meet a friend.
Also rang physio again and left a message to ask if she has any appts tomorrow now I'm off.
Have a good week one and all and keep warm xx0 -
Good grief did I sleep too long and wake up in November rather than June? Its freezing here with heavy constant rain, wind and mist coming in. Second day like that - bored with it now
.
Feel sorry for the birds especially those who still have babies to feed. When it stopped raining for a bit I put some food out that wouldn't disintegrate in the wet [roof came off the bird table earlier in the year], also filled up the seed feeder and put out some fat balls too. Quite a few wee birds came with their big babies for a feed but its too wet to put any more out at the moment.
I've put the heating on finally as I was so cold - been sitting under a blanket this afternoon, ridiculous for mid June. OH is working away until tomorrow so was trying not to put heating on as its just me in the house.
Made some bean and pasta soup for lunch which was delish and theres enough for tomo too. Defrosted some salmon fillets so that will do me 2 days. I just poached them - did look for more exciting recipes but either didn't have the ingredients or recipe was too faffy.
Cat keeps insisting on going out - strange beast likes to sit in the rain. Unfortunately he also likes to sit on my lap and dry himself off if he gets the chance .
Another cup of tea calls so might be back later.0 -
Well still raining and wind getting stronger - the signal on Sky keeps breaking up so have given up on TV. Watched an old Poirot earlier I'd seen it before but couldn't remember who dun it
.
Meant to say I saw the physio on Monday and she had a go at my back. I had a really long week with lots of hanging about between jobs so not sure if thats why it kept on hurting after my appt [usually helps it] but this is the first day it doesn't feel too stiff and sore. I was supposed to be on a course today but it was cancelled which was probably just as well as was so tired. Seems to be feast or famine - have got about a days work next week.
The EON refund arrived in the account this week so that went straight to an OP, got some change as well to pay in during the week hopefully. Am trying for a NSD again tomo - depends on if the cat food holds out. At the moment hes gone orf [EMAIL="Whisk@s"]Whisk@s[/EMAIL] and only eating Fel*x so theres only a few pouches left. We got a reminder for the vet that hes due his jags too so thats another thing to sort out and pay for.
Cleaned the wet room this evening and joined yougov and onepoll - will see how I go and then try some others too.
Off to bed now I think - night all0 -
Well I keep thinking its Friday today but no its Wednesday!
Looks like we need a new boiler as had to get another repair done and its getting to the point where its not worth it as its so old. We might be able to get boiler scrappage and also there is a local grants scheme we might be eligible for as OH gets a qualifying benefit. That would certainly help. We had a guy from the local scheme come round and he's going to arrange for a surveyor to look into cavity wall insulation and bringing the loft insulaltion up to standard. We don't have proper loft ladders so I've never been able to get in there to measure the depth and apparently its nowhere near enough. Soooo lots going on.
My back has improved a bit finally so managed to do some weeding - they have shot up, the sods. Also put more compost in the pots and gave them a clear out before the rain started so hope to get some plants in on Friday if the weather is ok - am at work tomorrow and the forecast is for mega rain again. The flowers have grown and some have bloomed in their plastic pots and I seem to have bought a petunia with almost black flowers much to my surprise .
I want to get some beans and peas planted too and my chives have died off after coming up year after year so will look to see if I have any seeds.
Got some time off in July so need to start thinking and planning about work as its getting too squeaky now:(. Our ISA rate just dropped too so need to look for a new one and do a transfer.....
Happy solstice everyone, Teapot x0 -
Happy Solstice to you too!!
It has been a very loooooooong week hasn't itOh well, it's Thursday so nearly the weekend...
We've had a couple of gorgeous sunny days so I've been out getting rid of the [STRIKE]triffids[/STRIKE] weeds ~ still loads more to do outside but it's piddling down today so I'm having a paperwork day.
Glad the back is better, mine was giving me gip yesterday when I was cutting the [STRIKE]dandelions[/STRIKE] grass & having to stoop to get under the tree.
Hope the puss gets on ok with having his jags.'A watched potato will never chit'...0 -
Yes sunshine gone again from here - a very driech and grey day. I really want to get on with the garden but as the saying goes the spirit is willing but ........
I'm having a three day weekend this week as no work tomorrow - also have paperwork to do, did get quite a bit done over the last week but theres always more. I need to apply for boiler scrappage too,0 -
Been looking at ISAs on MSE [of course] and finding it hard to decide what to go for - need to talk to OH about it, thats guaranteed to send him to sleep :rotfl:Mind you he's asleep in front of the football at the mo.
Think he was glad I'd made mince and tatties for him as it was so cold today. Had a sale on Amaz so got that posted off too. Not much else to report - need to go to PO tomorrow as cheque for some of May's work finally came in, the person who processes the payments has been on holiday so its taken much longer than usual to get the money.0 -
In keeping with previous posts will begin with complaining about the weather - yesterday very windy & cold, today not so cold but very wet! There was a local gala arranged to take place in the green space at the back of our house and it was so windy they cancelled it - I guess they were worried the bouncy castle or beer tent might take off :eek:. Shame its one of their main fundraisers for the children's play area
.
So not much in the way of gardening took place this weekend except for me chasing stuff around the garden that had been blown away and putting the still unplanted plants in the shed to protect them!! OH was supposed to be working on Friday but the roads were flooded so he couldn't go - Ark building anyone
Did get quite a bit of paperwork done though so thats good. Also went shopping at Mr A and stocked up for the week. Trying to keep an eye on food spending but mostly notice prices are going up again.
Cat went for his jags [£50] and he was very good and well behaved bless him but we got some not great news re his health which I'll say more about once I find out a bit more about it:(.
Got quite a good sale on Amazon which has been pending all weekend so I wish they'd either buy it or cancel.
Work tomorrow after meeting a friend for coffee - be good to see her as its been a while since we had a proper catch up. Am off work after Thurs for 2 weeks which am looking forward to - no holiday pay of course but not taken any time off since Christmas so ready for a break. Mind you will probably spend some of it sorting out the new boiler etc and a new ISA each.
Have a good week everyone - don't forget the brollies :rotfl:0
