Lol, enjoy the concert & hotel, hope you have a lovely weekend'A watched potato will never chit'...0

Well, nothing more extravagent than an outrageously expensive bottle of pear cider was bought
.
Had a great evening, more OH's music than mine [it was the Hollies] but I must when they did 'He aint Heavy..' it brought a tear to my eye.
Back to auld claes and porridge as they say up here, been pretty cold wet and windy so no progress on the garden. PO today with an Amazon sale and friend's b'day pressie so they are on their way before the postage cost goes up. Also took pouches of food that the cat won't eat to the Co-op as they have a collection point for the Cats Protection League and you can donate food. Well, when I say he won't eat it, its the gravy ones and he just drinks the gravy and leaves the pellet bits
so a waste of money.
Going to try and use up some freezer/cupboard food this weekend. The end of the month suddenly seems to be a long time coming so need to stretch the budget.
Lost another small bit of work this week as the funding was cut - bit pants. Need to transfer the mortgage money this weekend and move some dosh around to get the Reward.
Freezing here this evening and we've got the heating on brrr0 -
I KNEW there was something else - must be in denial. I think the washing machine is on the blink big time. First it did a wash and wouldn't spin so the clothes were sopping wet. Today I tried again and it was making weird noises then I thought it did a wash - certainly the powder disappeared but the clothes weren't wet when it finished . Think we'll have to get someone out to have a look at it.0

Our cat does this as well, although he does go back later to eat the meat pellets!! :rotfl: He's decided he doesn't like duck, either in gravy or jelly, so they will go next door for their cat or to the local cat charity.
Sorry to hear you've lost another bit of workand the washing machine saga is a pain.
Our weather is rubbish too, we had a sunny but cold day yesterday (we've only had 2 or 3 of those in the last 4 weeks) but it's back to being grey, windy & more rain forecast today ~ I want to get into the garden too as I'm hoping to grow some fruit & veg this year.'A watched potato will never chit'...0 -
We must have matching washing machines TT2. I put mine on timed to come on early this morning but everything was dry. Can't decide if I just didn't press the start button . The Liquid wasn't in the dispenser but it could have just drained into the machine. Oh well can't afford anything extra this month as have to pay for next set of DD1 driving lessons. How expensive are they???:eek:0

At least your cat will eat the pellets eventually, ours will just leave them to shrivel and go nasty. Food wise he's not keen on beef, chicken or the duck one either. He really prefers fish in jelly though he can be bribed with Whisk@s treats - his favourites are chicken and cheese , who thought up that combination I wonder :rotfl:.
Hope your weather improves soon - are you in a drought area? The grass really needs cutting again and the weeds are getting bigger and bigger here. Have a good weekend.

Oops - hope your machine is ok Stedwell, I put powder in mine so I know it didn't drain away. I tried it today and it did a wash ok but made some horrible noises so I won't risk another one. I've found a local repair service with no call out charge and free estimates so will ask them to have a look and if its viable to repair it we'll try that. We must have had it about 13 - 15 years so its done pretty well and been in 3 different places we've lived. I've got an emergency fund just in case so can use that if we need to tho I don't like spending any of it.
How much are driving lessons where you live? I get the impression thay are doing offers round here as there's quite a bit of competition. Just wait till you have to pay for insurance though . Hope all's well in your world otherwise.0 -
No drought here, teapot, far from it!! :rotfl:
DH & I spent yesterday afternoon digging out weeds & a tree trunk but it was sooooo cold ~ I'm fed up with the weather now & today is grey & windy with yet more rain forecastI usually love Spring, but this year has been dire so far.

Ah I wasn't sure as it seems to be quite widespread. Its freezing trying to work in the garden - I cut the grass yeaterday and I usually get really warm doing that but I had a zipped up top on and did think about gloves too. Glad its done though as it poured rain all night. Really want to get on with planting and growing a bit of veg but all I'm growing in abundance is dandelions
.

Well, guy came to look at the washing machine, I was at work so wrote a note about what it was doing and the various noises and missed bits of spinning etc and apparently he knew straight away that it was 'the brushes'. Took him about 5 minutes to replace and cost £85 . Still less than a new machine so seemed worth a repair. If it needed a similar priced repair in the future we might just get a new one but fingers crossed for now.
Baltic weather again today and horizontal rain. Ah well tomorrow is another day and the mortgage comes out0
