Well done on the expensive book sale ~ will that be another overpayment then?? ;) There's no way on earth that DH will part with any of his books if they're only going to make pennies ~ looks like I might be stuck with them, I suppose it won't be too bad if they all fit in the new study. Big if though as it's only a little study!! :rotfl:

Sorry to hear about your back pain, hope you get it sorted next week :)

Its amazing how many books can be fitted into a smallish space with a bit of creative placing and stacking. Might use the Amazon sale cash to buy more stock as a lot of my good stuff has gone so need to look for more.

Work rearranged and a physio appointment booked for Monday so yes, hope it helps, I cant tell but the physio usually sees I'm leaning over to the left quite alarmingly . It will be painful but worth it I tell myself
  • Thats great about the halifax teapot, how long did it take for the overpayment to show up on the mortgage account, does it happen immediately or is it overnight? Thanks

Hi Wantabetterlife, it was the next day when the OP showed up in the online banking for the mortgage account. It always seems to take 24 hours for any change to show up whether its an OP or just the regular DD for the mortgage payment - is it the same with you?

Had a friend to stay so not been posting but have been catching up on a few diaries today. Tried not to spend tooooo much when friend was here and as she's quite skint as well that helped as she understands . We did have a few sneaky coffees and cake though :D.

OH transferred some money into our joint account so we could do another OP - £200 gone in and did it online using the payment details I set up before and it worked fine :j

Went to the physio this week and it has definitely helped my back but think I'll have to go again in another couple of weeks as my shoulder isn't right. She strapped it up for me and I took the strapping off today - lots of lovely red blotches on my back and its v itchy but that wll wear off.

Quite a nice day here so got two lots of washing out on the line and almost dried. Went to Mr A to stock up for the week. I got a refund on ready to eat avocadoes which weren't. Took them back wrapped in cling film and she did want evidence so glad I took them.

Didn't eat all the food we bought for friend staying so I've frozen the extra and that will get used gradually. I did notice even more prices had gone up when I was going round. Hardly anything on the reduced shelf either :p

Am going to cook tea and watch TV with a pear cider - yum. Have a good evening all x

Weather a bit more unsettled so didn't do any more washing today. Went out and tidied up the garden a bit but only did half an hour or so as my back is so stiff. Still it looks a bit better than it did. Gale force winds are forecast so no doubt it'll all need doing again in a few days :p

Watched the rugby this morning - NZ did well to win. Shame no home teams left.

Had a check and we've OP'd as much as we can at the moment until I contact Halifax again about how much we can OP to not trigger an ERC. More money than expected in my business account - been paid early for one bit of work, usually goes in on 25th. Better in my account than theirs though :)

I've got some time off after this coming week so need to do a list of jobs inside and outside that need doing before the winter sets in properly.

Have a good week everyone ~ Teapot x

Been at work today and though I slept well [I think] been feeling very tired all day, hope I haven't got some lurgy looming - lots of folk coughing and sneezing everywhere . When I was in M&S yesterday the woman serving me sneezed into her open till!! Luckily for me she had already taken my change out. [sorry if thats TMI]

On a happier note got a £5 off £40 shop at Mr A so trotted there after work and stocked up on various things and used the voucher. Am going to attempt Thai fishcakes on Friday as my niece is coming to lunch so been looking for recipes and found a nice one on-line.

Not much else going on been perusing Book People and got a few ideas for Xmas pressies so will put in an order when I'm off next week.

Going to have an early night as am up at 6.30 tomorrow

:j:jHooray thats me off for 2 weeks :j:jnot going away but just pleased to have some time off and space to catch up a bit - there always seems to be so much to do.

The Thai fishcakes were yummy - would make them again, everyone liked them, even OH [pork pies were on standby in case he couldn't eat the fishcakes :D]. Have some curry paste left over so tonight have made a veggie curry with chick peas, green beans, mushrooms and spinach and will have jasmine rice with that - drool.

Got another £5 off £40 Mr A voucher along with £2.08 on the price guarantee site. They both have a few weeks to use them so that will come in very handy .

Got 2 books to post on Amazon on Monday, both good sales and one in particular is very pleasing. I'll need to do a bit of book listing when I'm off as not done much for a while and will also look for more stock. Hope to also sort out more Xmas pressies - will have to have a look and a think about what to get for who....

Am hoping for a few dry days as need to weatherproof the shed a bit and sort out the garden. Will also do some nice things even though we're not going away - cinema tomorrow and then I've got physio on Monday and we are hoping to go out for a meal after that.

    Enjoy your hols, teapot :D

We have just had a half-term holiday here & went out for 2 meals  neither of which were that good so wishing we hadn't bothered!! Hope your meal out is nice.

I'm liking the sound of your veggie curry  was it a Patak's paste you used?? I might try it as I like the sound of the ingredients, quite healthy sounding as well.

Anyway, back to bed for me now the painkillers have kicked in (the dreaded joint pain strikes again) ~ good job we have the extra hour lie-in ;):)

Thanks P Poppy, sorry to hear your meals out weren't so good - did you go to places you already knew?

We went to Pizza E on Sunday as its in the centre where the cinema is. Were going to go for a Thai meal on Monday after I'd been to the physio and both looking forward to it HOWEVER, they had that very day started their winter opening hours and are now closed on Mondays . So we went back to our own town and had..... you guessed it another Italian meal. [Theres not much choice where we live].

The curry I made was with a Blue Dragon sauce [red Thai curry paste]. It was very nice and theres enough to make another one so have bought some sweet potatoes and will put them in instead of chick peas this time [par boil first].

After all the spending had a NSD today but want to get a few violas and maybe cyclamen for pots tomorrow. The garden looks very bare and brown at the mo and its nice to have a few pots planted up that we can see out of the windows in the winter.

Both meals out were 'pub grub' ~ one is a really lovely atmospheric pub on the moors that we tend to go to every half term holiday ~ I had scampi & it was just a bit boring. The other was a not very nice local pub that sells cheap food. I didn't really want to go to the second pub but I was out-voted & only went along with it to keep everyone else happy. Oh well, at least everyone agreed the second one was rubbish & we won't be going back!! :p

Shame about the thai place ~ that's the sort of thing that would happen to me!! :rotfl:

Will have a look for the Blue Dragon curry paste, it sounds lovely. I usually buy Indian but it would be nice to have something different for a change.

I bought 2 pink cyclamen plants the other week & I have them in pots either side of my front door ~ they're one of my favourite plants & cheer me up everytime I see them :o

Anyway, off to check my mortgage balance now, the interest was added yesterday so hopefully today the monthly payment will have come off & I can make my first overpayment & start using my spreadsheet ~ woohoo I can't wait!! :j
