Ooh way back on page 7 - not posted for a while. Been feeling a bit flat, looks like I'm losing more work which is not great. However have sent letters and CV out to get on various lists and put my details on another website so hopefully things might pick up in the New Year.

Amazon sales have been going quite well [now of course having mentioned it they will grind to a halt]. I listed a few more books and that seems to have kick started things.

Did an OP of £50 today which takes us up to the maximum we can overpay. Will see tomorrow what the latest figure is and then the mortgage comes out on 1st Dec. Moved money round the accounts today so we can get the £5 Reward.

Been blowing a gale here for days and lots of rain too - the cat is not impressed. Think autumn has well and truly arrived now.

I nned to try and find a bargain supplier of Velux blinds as one of the blinds on our 3 Velux windows is broken and a lot of heat will be escaping. Thats my next mission I think.

Feel like I'm getting a sore throat but hope it doesn't turn into anything - can't afford to be off at the moment.

Hiya teapot, hope you're doing ok & haven't succumbed to the numerous bugs that seem to be doing the rounds lately.

Did you get anywhere with getting some new work?? Fingers crossed you've been a busy bee & that's what has kept you away from MFW.

Hello Pink Poppy, hope you are well and had a good Christmas? Thanks for checking in on me - much appreciated. As you know I haven't posted for a while.

Our godson went into hospital in December with a chest infection and caught a hospital bug too. He was very ill and although he is a fighter he couldn't shake off both infections. Sadly he died earlier this month and it has really knocked us for six hence my absence from here. His funeral was tough but also a celebration of his life and very moving.

Christmas has felt very flat this year and all the celebrations haven't made much sense so we just had a very quiet time really.

Nothing else to report at the moment but just wanted to say 'hi'. Thanks Teapot x

Hi Lois, he was mid twenties and we'd known him since he was very tiny.

Thought I'd venture out today as been in all over Christmas but its MEGA windy up here and a bit scary with horizontal rain as well so chickened out and stayed in :o. Was going to post an Amazon sale but I have until tomorrow to do that.

Did surprisingly well in December on Amazon - probably my best month this year. Don't know why as I don't sell new books and most weren't the kind you'd give for a pressie. But am definitely not complaining....

Made stovies for OH and watched Bednobs and Broomsticks and other slobbing about TV. Listed a few more books tonight but not done much all day really.

Finally ventured out yesterday and went for lunch with my neice which was very nice - bought myself a wee hot water bottle with a cover in a sale and got a pack of notelets as well. Didn't manage to do cards to everyone this year with all that went on so want to write to a few folk and catch up - and the pack was cheaper than buying individual cards. Aim to write a couple a day while I'm off.

Out again today to Mr A [I know how to live :rotfl:] as we were running out of cat food and bread etc. Never seen it so busy we had to queue with trollies round the edge of the shop and they had staff directing customers to relevant tills. Not sure why it was so busy as its not shut at all over New Year? It was all very civilised though and friendly. I remember going shopping late night in London when we lived there and two women had a fist fight over the last chicken .

I also got two files for putting my papers in to do my [hushed voice] tax return. I am very bad at leaving it till the last minute then not being able to locate at least two vital bits of paper so am going to try and start it now and get organised ........ watch this space.

Just made some quorn mince chilli type bolognese stew thing so looking forward to having that, probably with spaghetti.

Well a NSD today though that wasn't my intention - had a new duvet reserved and was planning to go and use a voucher to get it however the weather had other ideas

The storm today was much worse than the one in December in terms of wind strength. Two neighbouring fences blown down - ours still standing but will need some repairs anyway from earlier storm damage. Lots of slates off and some chimneys down in the neighbourhood. Trees uprooted as well but as far as I can tell our roof is ok. We had a couple of power cuts as well but they didn't last more than half an hour or so. Its quietened down now and supposed to be less windy tomorrow.

Good thing it was another bank holiday up here today as there were lots of road closures and the trains were all cancelled too .

I'm hoping to venture out tomorrow just locally as I have 2 Amazon sales to post :j and the cat has eaten everything again so need to get him more food!

Mortgage came out today but it hasn't updated online yet so will report new total tomorrow.

Not done anything towards my tax return - need to kick self up bahookie.....
