Only one word to describe today - DREICH; dreich, dreich, and dreicher. Felt like it was dark and gloomy all day as well as foggy and damp.

Had planned to paint another side of the shed but not the weather really so did things indoors instead. Also went to Mr A for a bit of shopping as we were running out of milk and fruit.

Not much to report today and no sales on Amazon for a week or so - pah. Might put a few bits on Freecycle next before CSI Miami comes on....

Dreich here too ~ I don't mind it too much apart from the fact it makes my hair go frizzy :o

I now feel bad for ignoring the two pennies I spotted on the pavement yesterday when I was out for a walk ~ hmmm, wonder if they'll be still there today??:p

Hope the Amazon sales pick up for you ~ are you likely to get sales from the Christmas market??

Generally I only ignore money on the ground if its in dog poo, or unidentified gunk :p. Or if its in the middle of the road and I might get run over - not worth it for 5p ;).

I don't expect to do all that well on Amazon over Xmas - don't have many new books so folk wouldn't buy them for pressies. Mind you I'm always amazed at what does sell so will keep my fingers crossed. I haven't listed any new stock for ages and the accepted wisdom is that you need to keep doing that to stimulate sales. So my own fault really - must pull finger out ;).

All items on Freecycle being collected tomorrow hopefully. Not much else to report. 2 smallish cottage pies made for OH so thats his tea taken care of for next couple of days. Was at big shops with my sis for a rake about - getting less tolerant of shopping and CBA with it all after a while. Had a nice lunch bought for me and a good catch up though.

Last day of my holibobs today - ah well all good things come to an end and all that..... Was on a course all day yesterday so that will has eased me into work. It was a NSD apart from the train fare as I took my lunch with me.

Not a bad day today weatherwise and we went out for breakfast to favourite garden centre and had a lazy morning admiring all their Christmas goodies. They also had cyclamens - hooray :j. They were a late delivery so they are selling them off for £1.99 for 6 instead of £7.99 so I got 12. Am really pleased and will plant them up on Tuesday when I have some time.

Went to Mr T after to get food shopping. I've got a stew going in the oven with lots of veg for OH. We got given veg from someone's allotment so have added some of that.

Heard from Halifax yesterday about how much we can OP in November without triggering an ERC. Its £1255 - not sure we'll get to that with Christmas coming up but can try. Will add up all the change banks this week as a start.

Got quite a few Xmas pressie now which is not like me :rotfl:as am usually last minute. com but am trying to be more organised in the hope that it will not cost as much this year! Ordered some books from the Book People today as well.

Have a good week everyone. Teapot x

An OP of £500 made over the weekend [by online banking]. Will try and put more towards it later in the month too :j.

Cold today and had lots of paperwork to do and stuff for OH so didn't manage to get my plants in but have tomorrow morning so will try then.

Not such good news on the income front as I had a call to tell me some of my sessional hours are being cut - I'll lose about £100 a month so thats quite a chunk. Thats the third job where I'm either getting a lower hourly rate or else less hours . I felt a bit floored at first but have been thinking about ways to try and get more work so need to get going on that this week.

No book sales at all though I have listed a few more. Need to pull my finger out methinks

Well done on the £500 OP ~ it's such a good feeling isn't it :D

Shame about the cut in your hours though, hope you manage to get something else sorted.

Was lovely and sunny yesterday so I got all my plants in and they look great - 5 pots full of violas, cyclamen and wall flowers, so I hope they all survive. Am going to move them around so we can see them through the living rooom window looking all lovely and cheery .

I then painted two sides of the shed one of which was quite fiddly as it has the window and door so had to paint round the frame, hinges and lock etc.

I also made a curry inbetween times and I had to go to work in the evening - my back was well sore by then.

Long day at work today with an early start but survived that and had some curry for tea [yum]. Thinking about listing a few books on Amazon and then might count up the change pigs, cats and cows to make an OP :j. Found a £2 coin today so that can go towards it.

It is indeed - its my guilty pleasure [well one of them ;)].

I've got a few ideas to drum up more work so shall see, I've always been fairly resourceful and managed to find enough work to get by.

Wow can't believe how mild and sunny the weather has been these last few days. Had to cut the grass again today as it was growing away. Can't remember cutting it this late in the year before. Also cut back the buddleia [sp] and it will grow again in the spring. The cat wasn't impressed as he sits under it.

Finished the shed painting yesterday but when I checked it today there are a couple of runny bits :p. Not sure why that has happened but can sand it and repaint those areas. The whole thing needs another coat really but I can do that in the spring.

Treated myself to lunch out yesterday which was yummy and got a book for reading in the chazza shop. Had a sale on Amazon so posted that too when I was out. Got loads of washing done and dried and made some soup with the allotment veg we were given. Also got another Xmas pressie when I was out.

Went to Mr A for shopping and stocked up - got over £7 off with voucher which was great.

Been quite a busy weekend [and not a NSW] so will have an early night. Meeting a friend for coffee and a catch up after work tomorrow.
