It's annoying having to wait for the balance updates when it's a Bank Holiday isn't it - they really should be more accommodating for us impatient MFWers!! :rotfl:

Hope you managed to get out & about today ~ our cat is turning his nose up at his usual food after being spoiled with turkey over Christmas & New Year!!

Exactly - don't they know how eager we are to pay them more money to pay them less [IYSWIM] :rotfl:.

We are down to £36444 now, didn't really overpay much in December as it was a difficult/strange time all in all. Need to get back into the swing of doing overpayments, got a letter from Halifax today saying how much we can overpay so will look at getting on with that. The Reward payments went in as well so need to transfer them.

I went out and posted my Amazon sales and had a mooch around the shops [lots of them still closed, its a small town]. Lots of debris and damage from the storm yesterday - made me realise we were lucky to get away with a smashed flower pot and a wobbly fence. Lots of roofs with a large number of slates missing and fences completely blown down. Seems like a lot of pitched roofs lost the bits along the top where the two sides meet - don't know what those tiles are called but loads blown away. Few High Street windows smashed by flying debris [as opposed to flying drunks which are the usual cause]. My friend hassn't had any power for 2 days now, she lives up in the hills above the town.

I completely forgot to buy cat food :o - bad, bad person but he has an emergency stash so will be ok until tomorrow - I did of course remember to buy cake for me and OH :o. Will have to make a vet appointment for him tomorrow as he has had a bit of discharge from one eye for a couple of days. He went up to bed this affy and when he came down the other eye is all sticky too. REALLY hope he doesn't get drops as he is a nightmare to apply any meds to . Time to look out my suit of armour me thinks. Hope your cat reverts to less inconvenient food soon or will you have to buy a turkey every few weeks throughout the year? :rotfl:

Oh I forgot to look if the Reward payment had gone in, it should have done though. I can't wait to get our mortgage balance into the £30k's ~ still a long way off for us but I'm going to be really strict with the finances this year ;)

It's still a battle of wills with the cat ~ he's still being sniffy with his meat & I'm trying not to cave in & give him something else!! :rotfl: He's still eating his biccies so he won't starve. Hope your puss is ok, sounds like it could be an infection?? Do cats get a feline equivalent of conjunctivitis?? Could you attempt to bathe his eyes with cooled boiled water?? Risky business when they're all sharp teeth & claws!!

Good luck with the battle of wills re food - moggies can be so stubborn.

Took ours to the vet as his eye was red and puffy this morning and yes he has conjunctivits and oh joy he has eye drops. The vet made it look easy getting them in his eye but I know it will not be easy or painless [for me] when I have a go :p

Been to Mr A and stocked up on cat food, milk and bread etc.

Its worth plugging away though as it does come down steadily if you keep going. Good luck with your finances.

    I won the battle!! ;)

Your poor mog, funny how animals can get the same ailments as us ~ one of our girl cats (sadly no longer with us :() ended up with cystitis years ago. Hope you manage to get the drops in his eyes

Re. the mortgage, I love plodding away & overpaying bits & bobs :D I've just transferred £55 over today (£5 Reward *thanks for reminding me about that* & £50 Christmas money that was a cheque for my kids but I gave them the cash).

We had a cat who developed diabetes - he was a lovely boy, I had to inject him twice a day.

Thats a good overpayment today - carry on like that and it'll soon add up :D

Well done on winning the moggie battle too - watch out for 'messages' under your pillow in revenge though :rotfl:

After re-reading my last post I feel the need to explain that I meant the Royal 'us' when I said about ailments ~ I don't have & have never had cystitis myself!! :o:rotfl:

Glad you managed to get the eye drops in safely, what a lovely image I have in my head now of a cat with his eyes squeezed tightly shut, so cute :D Hopefully the drops will do their stuff & get rid of the infection soon.

LOL I assumed you meant humans rather than you personally :rotfl:

Second lot of eyedrops in and more face squeezing - he is very good really. He has a note on his file at the vets because I think he must have attacked them when he was being treated some years ago before he lived with us. I think its an undeserved reputation as he was good as gold at the vets last few visits - must have had some treatment for something very painful to react like that poor wee soul.

Hoping for a NSD today and am going to do some hoovering as a displacement activity for the tax return :o
