  • Perfetct thanks keef! I downloaded firefox (which I'd been meaning to try anyway) and it worked fine!
  • I just downloaded Chrome and then downloaded the books very easily to my library in Audible. Then just closed, reopened in Explorer and downloaded quickly to my pc. Thank you very much for the tips keefj :T

I had the same problem in internet explorer, it seems to think you are still logged on to audible and never gets to the download page. I opened the same page in Google chrome and logged in to audible again and it worked. Maybe logging out of audible might work if you don't have another browser..

Brilliant thanks - I used Google Chrome instead and it worked. It hadn't previously worked when I logged out of Audible and stayed with Explorer - even if I cleared cookies, but this little trick worked.

I have now updated original post to alert others to this problem. Hopefully Audible will fix it tomorrow anyway as they are going to have a very full email in-box on Monday!
  • A fantastic offer indeed! I've found it all working just fine. Had originally registered and logged in with firefox for yesterdays deal. Came to it today (again with firefox) and I was recognised from yesterday but had no problems at all getting the download (clicked existing customer took me to my 'basket' (with today's audio book there waiting) checked out which took me to the download page. I did bother to fill out the guardian bit (name and email) before going to the audible site... Don't know if that made a difference...

Good luck all and enjoy ;-)

Is it just the book audio file you download? Don't you have to download the wherewithall (license?) first? (Not just be able to open audio files.)

Wow, that's almost 18 hours of listening if you add all 3 parts together (go to 'My Library' to see the lengths).

    So far we have:

The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo (Stieg Larsson):
    Usual price £11.89
    Length: 7 hr 26 min

    Armando Iannucci's Charm Offensive:
    Usual price: £8.89
    Length: 1 hr 25 min

Matter-unabridged in 3 parts (Iain Banks):
Usual price £13.99, Length approx 18 hr

We are all going to need a very long holiday to find time to listen to all of these by the end of the week! I'm loving this offer.

I don't understand your question I'm afraid, but if you have a go you will find that the whole process of downloading is very simple (as long as you avoid Explorer). There is only the one audio file to download for each book (or part) and this can be downloaded from your computer as many times as you like to listen to on your computer, burn to a CD or put onto your iPod or MP3 player etc.

I've got a quite a few free downloads from Audible (via variois offers posted on MSE :D) on my iPod; trouble is that I doze off to sleep while listening to them no matter how interesting they are (unless I'm in the car of course!) so it takes me ages to get through them all :rotfl:

    Great spot OP!!:j

I have a Sony Walkman MP3 player (as in http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-NWS202-512mb-Walkman-Player/dp/B000IMB4IM).

Being a bit of a dinosaur about these things, can someone please tell me if I could download an audiobook to this please?

    Many thanks!
