I've sold lots of random carp. Just take photos of it and describe it honestly.

tenmah, that's really harsh...did they give a reason?

£345 isn't bad for a TEFL course is it? 2 day intensive in-class stuff, and then 70-80 hours online?

Thanks for the link Scardey - unfortunately it is talking about the process she has just been through. No they don't give any reason why they turned it down. I am just so upset on her behalf. She goes to work, but can only work part time and then has to sleep in between to catch up. So I don't know whether they are penalising her for working, but the alternative is to sit at home and claim benefits and become housebound and depressed. Just doesn't make sense.

perhaps it might be a thought to go see someone at the Citizens Advice when she's feeling up to it.

    Tenmah,
It seems really unfair. Have you thought of writing to your MP. Sometimes it gets you somewhere with complaints.

Citizen's Advice were not too much help sadly. It might be worth writing to our MP, he is very good but he is a family friend which makes it a bit awkward!

Sorry, don't mean to knock back everything that is being suggested. This was her second tribunal and we seem to have exhausted all the help we can get. She has been helped by two welfare advisers at the Council (where I work) who both said she should get it based on her application and submission. So if they think she should, and they are working on DLA applications daily, I don't understand why the panel turned her down.

At this stage in the game I would be using any advantage I had Tenmah:)

tenmah - it does sound as if she is being penalised for working. My sis has cp and rang up to ask about taking a voluntary job for a couple of hours per week. They immediately cancelled her DLA and made her re apply....

Unfortunately they don't seem to set much store to psychological issues such as self esteem being preserved by just getting out of the house.

In my good news I got FOUR new clients today!!!!!!
