my neighbor use to put a stone hanging by some string by the door, and when the cat wanted to come in he would push the stone which and it would swing and knock on the door...
please dont steal the idea as Im going on dragons den next week.

  • Hi,

Can anyone recommend someone to do this in/around Peterborough?

    Thanks
  • I have also used Jacksons in Manchester to provide a new double glazed unit for a french door in my daughters house, where she has 3 cats. They made it up according to my measurements (including the hole that was required). It cost us £130 and would have been another £40 if I wanted them to fit it.

I have nothing but praise for their work and their 'customer service'. Julian was really helpful. He provided a few good tips and was regularly in touch. I will use them in the future if ever I need any replacement windows or doors.

We fitted a battery operated 'Sureflap' catflap. This scans the cat's microchip as it tries to go through and if it's not 'known' to the catflap, it won't open. It stops your cat from inviting all it's mates round when you're out.

Well for a change, I got my measurements right(!) and it all went together really easily. The cats took a little training, but they've now got the hang of it.

The Sureflap was another £70 or so (check retailers on Ebay), so the total cost is not exactly cheap. My daughter says that the cat litter doesn't need changing as often though, so maybe in the long run it will have turned out to be a bargain!
  • Hi,
Did anyone in the Leicester area get this done? Any recommendations?

    Hi

I'm in rented accommodation near Hay on Wye and would like a cat flap fitted at not too high a cost so I can reinstate when I move.

I have a single glazed sash window, which I would like to use. Can anyone recommend someone?

    Thanks

  • Hi does anyone know anybody you will fit a cat flap in a double glassed patio door in the WOLVERHAMPTON area West Midlands ???? its a fully glassed door, also known as French doors...thanks:j
  • I too have had problems this week with COLIN DARRALL of catflapfitter.co.uk.
Very polite and knowledgeable when he first visited to measure up. Took £100 deposit. Has now missed fitting appointment, won't return calls, is very vague when you do eventually get through to his mobile.
Trading standards office informed me they have a list of complaints against him, but they can't pin him down in order to prosecute. BEWARE!
