although I liked Mary Anne too but it was obvious last night she was trailing way behind with all the underbaking
& who the heck designed that trophy? the only place it would go in my home is the bin, the outside one :rotfl:0 -

I agree on both counts

Mary Ann was quite innovative. I liked the patterns she baked in to her cakes.
I agree about the trophy - I saw whisks and wooden spoons in it, but what were those ball things in the bottom? It was so huge you couldn't really display it in your living room could you?0 -
My son loves this programme and is trying to persuade me to enter!! No chance!
I thought she was a worthy winner last night - her final show stopper was amazing!
Oh go on, enter
I loved those mini victoria sponges she did, and her display cabinet was gorgeous. All of them displayed their food beautifully at the end.
On another note, do we really have to wait a year to see those lovely Hollywood eyes?0 -

I've had another look at the trophy on iplayer & it looks like it's been cobbled together from a set of spring scales, a citrus juicer & a goldfish bowl, then filled with utensils & whole eggs ... totally bizarre0 -
My lovely DH brought home the book for me ... only problem is that it was the book from last years series
which I didn't watch.
I might have to check the supermarkets for this years one now
I attempted the Chocolate Roulade, I found Mary Berry's recipe on the internet. I was a little apprehensive but it turned out fairly easy to do and it looked AMAZING (I am sooooo proud of myself!) and tasted as good as it looked.
I took it to a BBQ and it was recognised for what it was (always a good start!) and there were lots of knowledgeable comments about the rolling/curling etc :rotfl:
Can deffo recommend!!!Whether you think you can or you can’t, you’re probably right ~ Henry Ford0 -
Here's Jo's blog if you are interested. http://josblueaga.blogspot.com/ You could always ask about the trophy. I can't post because you have to be a member of something or other (Blogspot I think it is) so if you are a member and want to ask her I'd love to know what she's done with it!0

I agree with everybody's comments that Jo was a worthy winner, have just checked out the bbc website and :j the raspberry and pistachio meringue recipe is there - will definitely give this a go.
and OOOOH that trophy, what were the show producers thinking allowing that monstrosity - it might have been humorous if it wasn't sooooo big and d**ned ugly.Jan - June Grocery spends = £531.61
July - Grocery spends = £119.54
Aug - Grocery spends = £0 -
