All this wailing and gnashing of teeth and for what? The clamping "industry" will wither on the vine when it is ring-barked by the Government. The sky will not fall and nor will the earth be rent in twain. It is simply the death of a means by which a number of scam-artists have exploited people and had it not been for their excesses - despite being licenced - then it would have been allowed to continue. Scotland have lived with this situation for 20 years and you can still park in their sports centres and supermarkets.

If you think that clamping and private ticketing are the answer to parking problems then I'm afraid you've simply swallowed the PPC/clampers line in pandering to lazy management. Be imaginative and look to exploit the resource a car park offers.
My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016). :(

For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com

Try telling that to a pensioner or someone on low income.

Are pensioners or people on low incomes unable to make informed and rational decisions on acceptable places to park? If so then they probably shouldn't be driving in the first place.

The car park has to be open all day in order for people to either use the sports facilities (this would include visiting sports people - so impractical to have a swipe card) and also for parents dropping off/ picking up for the nursery school.
We also rent out a number of our spaces to provide an income that helps provide important funds to pay for the upkeep of the facility, which is, after all, for the benefit of the community.

Simple as people arrive to use the facilities they go to reception and whoever is on duty presses a button and the barrier rises, also provide a pick up and drop off area which solves the other problem.
why should we do them any favours for stealing from us?

If theft is involved I suggest you call the police, what exactly are they stealing from you?

You obviously missed the point entirely, I won't even bother trying to explain it to you as you're clearly too irrational to understand.

How are you getting on with answering my questions, rather than abusing drivers?

What an arrogant and ignorant attitude, one day you may be one of them, however I doubt it as you obviously seem to live in cloud cuckoo land, I bet you would have been one of the first to scream if you had been clamped by one of your clamping friends

Or even an intercom. I mean people are sooooo lazy these days.

I bet their sports facilities would have one of these if it was not level with the car park, but they still wouldn't bother with a parking barrier system.

thank goodness the new(ish) government has finally looked at this shoddy industry and closed them down. They were asked to self regulate, and failed by constantly ripping people off. Now the focus is for landowners to now get there act together just like scotland has, I bet the cost of metal will now rocket with people purchasing gates, bollards and such like.

Of course they can also keep dishing out those stupid tickets.

I bet this has been a huge money earner for some, look at the poor guy in Wembley, London. He spent 30 hours in his car, 40 tickets, 4 clamps and even entered his car. Good riddens to these louts, and welcome to the dole que :)
Trinidad - I have a number of needs. Don't shoot me down if i get something wrong!!

£90 is two tanks of petrol, I'm sure a car owner can afford that especially as they weren't paying for parking anyway. If they only get clamped twice a month then they're still quids in. We don't see any of the fee anyway. Who is going to provide a service to us to clamp rogue parkers for £20 a go and be on 24hour call out to release people. The !!!!!!!!!!s do after all have a choice not to park there, why should we do them any favours for stealing from us?

Why use clamper's then?

It seems to me it didn't work for your car park, just line the pockets of soon to be unemployable thugs that's all.

Why clamp people at 3am and then on a so called "call out" "release" them unless the only prime motivator is money?

The clamping fraternity have one thing coming to them. The dole. Good.
