My only gripe is after cooking kids chicken and other stuff ..i still had to cook and the whole point of takeaway is not tooooo.
Although it was soooo much cheaper so will defo do it again. Am trying sausasge muffins at weekend.0 -
The book arrived yesterday. Now amassing ingredients. Found garlic and ginger paste in a Chinese supermarket. Garlic powder in health food shop.
Have re-read all posts and am now planning next week's fake-aways. Isn't this fun! :j0 -
banana muffins are in t'oven and rising nicely!!
for those who are having trouble - garlic powder and onion granules (pretty much same as powder!) are in stock at morrisons where the other spices and herbs are kept. thats where i got mine from.0 -
PS the lamb mince was frozen when i got it (had to go to a butchers cos the supermarket had sold out!) can i refreeze once its cooked or is that a no-no? thanks in advance x
Yep you can refreeze it as it will have been cooked, you can't refreeze frozen meat if it has not been cooked so you will be ok with this.0 -
well my kebab meat is in the oven :j gonna have to have it with no sauce tho as b & m had sold out  gonna feed my lil 6 week old daughter and then when she doses off back to sleep im on with the banana muffins......can see this becoming addictive!
The muffins will def become addictive, take a look at the Muffins, muffins, muffins thread for some more recipes.0 -

thanks so much! im always uncertain if its just raw meat or cooked also so will make a note that its ok to be re-frozen once cooked.

If you freeze them but have the desire to have one at short notice they only take 45 secs on hight to defrost.
Ask me how many times I have done that! Then again don't, it's embarrassing.
I have GOT to stop making muffins, they are so good I can't help but keep trying different ones.0 -

ha ha haaaa! oh god ive put them in a tupperware and out of my sight because i now have the inclination to have another.......read the recipe again and i forgot to put the 1/2 tsp of salt in to my mix but you cant tell and they are beautiful!
the last time i made buns (or tried to!) was when i was 11 in cooking class at school......they came out the oven like burnt flat rocks.....never did find out why and the teacher couldnt explain it either! so i am chuffed to have triumphed with these!!
Also had a lil bit of my donner meat that too is addictive......can see me eating a lot of home made takeaways i'd say ive already made my £3.79 the book cost me back!0 -
My book came today - and the pizza was superb
Looking forward very much to the donner meat. I have been looking for the sauces for ages, and know they dont sell them in Makro, etc but will find a B&M somewhere.
Thanks for all the suggestions, nice to find so much enthusiasm for something that is actually affordable to the majority.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -

the donner meat is delicious and the muffins are stunning! im already addicted good job its a darn sight cheaper to make them than buy them (just need to find a low fat version if one exists!). also morrisons have the nescafe cappucino sachets on bogof so i bought a caramel and a cappucino box. now i can sit there at night watching my soaps with a muffin and a posh coffee ....gimme a cardboard cup and theres my costa fix for more than half the price!0
