Made a donner kebab for tommorow. DH loves them & I hate him getting them from kebab shops because "god only knows the meat grade"
Was going to have it tonight, but too long too cook. So put chips in the actifry for steak & chips:D and made the kebab while the chips were cooking.
But help, what on earth is onion powder?
I finely minced a small onion instead.
Has anyone found onion powder? I've never heard of it.
Other than that very simple, I reckon it will be all the better for being made a day in advance.0 -

I did think there wasn't a lot of seasoning, oh well I taste mine tomorrow.0 -

It looks good if you are a meat eater, but we are mostly veggie/vegan at home so it might contain very few recipes. But thanks anyway for posting, I am sure that lots of people will enjoy cooking the recipe (and save a fortune in the process). Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -

I bought mine from Sainsburys, you will find it along with all of the other herbs and spices, I think mine was about 97p for a jar.
To be honest I would try and stick exactly to the recipe as it may well make a lot of difference to the finished taste.0 -

Thank you, will look for it. Never even heard of it before.
Will look with the dried parsley & stuff, yeah?

I couldnt find onion 'powder' either but the shwartz spice range in the local supermarket had onion granules - so I used those in the FKC recipe for chicken! worked just fine! son said that the batter tasted the same 'but could I get the chicken as dry as FKC cos mine was too moist'! OH loved it though and so did I!0

I made my second lot today and funny, my OH said he didn't think McD's eggs were fried. They're not poached either though, so next time i try them I'm going to set the bottom of them on the hob, cover them with foil and bang them in the oven."Who’s that tripping over my bridge?" roared the Troll.

Back with an update on the lamb donner i made earlier....:D
The loaf sliced much easier when cooled, popped in the oven for about 10 mins to warm it up nicely.
The kids (13 and 11 year old girlies) both were very interested in what i was making and couldn't wait to try it.
Both really enjoyed it!! and i mean REALLY enjoyed it!!:T
Comments included "yum mum" " better than chippy" and my favourite from my teenager " Your a great cook mum!!:A"
Got to add i also thought it was nicer than earlier, so i would recommend making it the day before if possible.Everyday im shufflin' Proud Padder ~ All Hail The Power of Pad0 -
My son works for McDonalds (just part time whilst at college), they use the egg ring, a tea spoon of water and cover, so kind of half fry half poached, if you want exact details I will ask him when he comes home.Real men never follow instructions; after all they are just the manufacturer's opinion on how to put something together.0
