You will be amazed how much your kitchen smells like a kebab shop whilst it is cooking, plus the end result is a bit special too!0 -

What I normally do, providing you like it of course, is make 3 lots and cook them all at the same time, slice two, wrap in foil or put into an plastic tub and freeze.0 -
Good idea, i have bought an extra pack of lamb mince. I'm going to make one tonight night, if it does prove to be a success and i'm sure it will, i can make a bigger batch in the future. I like to make enough to have leftovers to freeze for the future.Grocery Challenge 24th Feb-28 Dec 2012 £2000/£1404

Hi can I just ask where you tend to buy your lamb mince from? I know from previous times when I've bought it from the butchers, I had to buy the fillet and then get the butcher to mince it!! which cost a fortune. thanks0

I found that the cheapest was Tesco, £2.39 for 500g. You need to buy fatty lamb, don't buy the best, it will come out dry, you need the fat in it to keep the meat moist and it will drain off during cooking.0 -
