I imagine they're overwhelmed with orders & haven't got enough books to meet the demand

the first book made #2 in the Amazon bestsellers list at one point, outselling Jamie, Nigella etc

We had one too, my husband isn't happy.

He asks what is the point of pre ordering something for a certain date when Amazon aren't able to provide it on that date.

    We ordered weeks ago.

The email says awaiting stock from suppliers and 'estimated' arrival date is between 30th May and 6th June. Glad it wasn't supposed to be for his birthday on the 27th.

Apologies if this has been asked, but after getting ripped off by our local kebab store with a measly sized chicken kebab for £5 (I swear i've seen more meat on a sparrow) I promised OH I'd make him a chicken kebab from The Takeaway Secret. However, the receipie (can't remember if its the marinate or chilli sauce) calls for onion powder, which I can't find in any local supermarkets (incl world food aisles) or the local Thai supermarket. Would onion granules be ok to use of would these signifciantly alter the taste / texture of the recipie?

    hi Kerri,
I've never made the chicken kebab, but I've used onion granules in the doner & it was absolutely fine :)

I don't imagine there's much difference between the two (I mean granules & powder)

I'm interested in getting this book. :p I'm pregnant and have been craving takeaways but don't like the idea of all the fat and grease that goes into them!

The thing is that the only Takeaways I like are pizza, things from the chippy, Macdonalds etc. I don't like chinese, indian, mexican etc and I'm vegetarian.

Are there many recipes to cater for someone like me? :o

Going by what you said you like there is:

    chip shop style chips
    fritters
    thin crust pizza base
    italian pizza sauce
    instant pizza sauce
    margherita pizza
    vegetarian stuffed crust pizza
    macaroni cheese
spag bol (a friend does hers with quorn mince and you would never know)
garlic cream fettucine with bacon and mushrooms (leave out the bacon)
    breaded mozarella cubes
    onion rings
    gralic mushrooms
    potato wedges
    garlic bread
    chip shop curry sauce
    tortilla wraps
    egg muffin (breakfast fast food)
    breakfast pancakes
    milkshakes
    hot chocolate
    choc chip cookies
    vanilla ice cream
    cheesecake

I hope this helps. I think you'd find a lot in the book, the fettucine recipe if I was making it I would just leave out the bacon. Also no reason why for the chicken strips etc you could subsitute Quorn etc.
CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J

Mine is delayed and I've ordered it to be delivered to my parents' house as I'm dog-sitting for a week. Now it will arrive when I've gone home, which is 80 miles away. Grrrr indeed...

if it's Amazon your order's with, you can probably cancel & re-order it to be sent to your own address

Thank you. That helps alot. :D

I normally substitute for Quorn anyway with meat based dishes so shouldn't be a problem. :)
