Made the salt and pepper chicken from the new book for dinner tonight and it is gorgeous! Better than the takeaway version I think...

I bought the first book earlier this week but am having difficulty sourcing some of the ingrediants. can anyone tell me where i might find garlic and ginger paste and a creamed coconut block. both are needed to make the basic curry sauce, i have looked in mr T's today but being new to cooking from scratch i have no idea what i am looking for.:o

If you can get yourself to a chinese or indian supermarket, if nothing else they are so much cheaper than anywhere else.
Big supermarkets usually sell all these items, just ask, or ring up.Opinion on everything, knowledge of nothing.0 -

The second book has a recipe in it for making your own garlic and ginger paste
However, because I'm reasonably lazy.....Tesco do a Chinese Ginger, Garlic and 5 Spice which I use instead in a curry and its lovely.
Creamed coconut block, also Tesco and made by Pataks. Its in a small box.0 -
