    3. I've found it's best to be 'generous' with the spices, my teaspoons are rather shallow so I make it a good heaped one/half.
A teaspoon is a specific measurement - as well as being the name we use for any spoon we stir tea with. Modern teaspoons aren't as big as older ones.... but the measurement of "a teaspoon" is very specific.

I've been talking to Kenny McGovern on Twitter and thought you might all like to know he has a new book out in May called 'More Takeaway Secrets'. Recipes will include...

    Chicken with black pepper sauce
    Salt and pepper chips
    Madras curry
    Vindaloo curry
    King rib
    American bbq ribs
Bacon and folded egg omelette bagel
    Kung pao chicken
    Mongolian beef
    Crispy beef
    Chicken puri
    Yakitori chicken
    Tasty big burger + sauce
    Boneless buffalo wings
    Chocolate fudge cake
    Ice cream frenzy
    ...and more!

And I THINK he said to someone else recently chicken katsu curry and sticky rice is in the book too. Yummers!

I'm quite excited about this book. Anyone else??

Just thought I'd quote my earlier post for anyone else who was wondering what's in the book!

See Kenny's post above really. A few nice things in there for me like Egg Fried Rice, Ice Cream Frenzy (McFlurry!) Whopper, Potato Wedges (gorgeous!) BBQ Beans (lovely!) and McD's Apple pies as well.

Interestingly this time he also gives recipes for making your own things like garlic and ginger paste and indian spice mixes which are helpful made in bulk.

Need to buy the paperback version though because trying to cook with a kindle is difficult :D

I have just pre-ordered the paperback version on Amazon, due out to me around the 22nd May.

Can't wait, I use the first book weekly for the pancakes especially. My girls love them for breakfast or brunch at the weekend.

Not sure where you get 20% fat mince from though for the burgers. the non-lean in Lidl seems to be 10%

Tesco Value mince is less than 25% fat if that is any good?

    It is £2.40 for 800g.

Just wanted to say we are blown away by the results of the cookie recipe in this book, will never bake a different cookie recipe now.... I fact the other day I got carried away making them and realised I had no eggs....so instead i added a dash of milk and a heaped tbsp of nutella....omg, amazing....like a really marbled effect, and really great texture
