have already got my chicken and quorn for dd (veggie) marinating in my tikka marinade,,
Making basic curry sauce now,,,notice when i come to make the tikka massalla curry it stated coconut powder?? i couldnt find it,,i have coconut (dessicated not sweetened) and coconut cream,,but there was no block or powder in supermarkets,,,does anyone think i would be able to use blitzed/ground dessicated coconut instead or should i just chuck in some coconut cream?
hmm just wondered if anyone else had made it and what they added?
i dont think it would make a huge differnce i will prob add some coconut cream unless anyone has any better suggestionsLife happens when you are busy making other plans

Hi there  I've been lurking and read all the posts this afternoon. Phew! lol
I don't know if this will help with getting the eggs right for mcmuffins? I've been without a hob for a while and I wanted to make some eggs for mcbacon muffins. Having no gas, no eggs rings or poaching pan, I folded over a sheet of tinfoil, scrunched it round the bottom of a large coffee jar and twisted it round the bottom to make foil cups. I did it quite hard and a lot of times to iron out the wrinkles.
I did six and put them on a tray with a bit of oil and water in each one. I cracked an egg into each cup and popped them in the oven at about 110 degrees. They came out perfect for the muffins...and the right size to match the buns.
It's amazing what you think of improvising with when you ain't got it!
Hope this might help someone? And I loved reading this thread too....

I made the donor kebab again tonight as my VERY, VERY fussy son didn't get a chance to try it last time. He loved it! We even made the pitta breads (v.easy!) and he came back for more. I always thought kebabs were unhealthy, but when you see what goes into this one, it's not.0

The Tikka Massala is my favourite curry recipe ever, we have it most Saturday nights:j. Asda also sell the coconut powder with their ethnic foods, I bought 4 boxes for my store cupboard, as I don't always shop at Asda. Each box will do four curries I reckon. HTH.0 -

look forward to it coming as my sons love takeaway meals and I hate the cost of them.0 -
Just ordered one; not had a chance to read all of this thread, but I am moving into a new house soon and I need to make savings so being able to cook scrummy food at a discount on takeaways will be a good start!0
