The cheapest place to buy The Takeaway Secret is Book Depository at £3.77 inc. delivery. Alternatively, it's a penny more (£3.78) on Amazon.

Made my first thing from the book yesterday - the banana muffins. They were delicious, if a little sweet (might reduce the sugar next time). They rose beautifully but then sunk when they came out of the oven, into a squidgy delicious cakey-mess. That might have been due to the fact that I used a vegan egg replacement though (DS allergic to eggs and milk).

  • Just found this thread and have ordered mine just now. Will be taking it to Alaska with me for my friend who emigrated there, she can't get kebabs and misses them so much as well as a chinese take away curry! Great thread.

I didn't think I would have any use for this book as I don't like curries, chinese or burgers but you have just mentioned 'Banana muffins' ha ha, now you are talking. I love banana cakes.
Can you tell me, are there many cake recipes in the book, enough to make it worth me buying it? Who's take away are the Banana muffins? - Starbucks or someone?

    Thanks in advance

The chocolate chip cookies in this book are to die for. They are as good as any that the supermarkets sell in those little bags.

I also make the pizza and that's now a family favourite. Buy the book Oddjob, it will repay you many many times.

flour is usually added to bind ingredients (and maybe slop up some of the grease lol)
