I've made the cookie dough for the cookies (obviously!
) and it's in the fridge ready to slice and bake. I made a double batch as it says you can freeze the dough once sliced and just bake them from frozen. Maybe it's because I made a double batch but when I was mixing the ingredients, you don't realise just how much butter and sugar go into them. When you by stuff in the shops it's a case of out of site out of mind, and what I don't know won't hurt me.

Just tried 4 cookies in the halogen oven to see if they would come out okay. They were lovely. A little bit sweet, but that's okay, as it means i'll only eat one at a time! I was a bit worried incase i'd rolled the dough into too thin a roll, but they spread out and were a nice size.0

I usually add the juice of a lime at the end of the cooking (did I mention that already?) which tastes good & adds a bit of moisture
if I want the fajitas extra 'juicy' I sometimes add a bit of water & some gravy granules to create a sauce, handy if you're not adding salsa & yogurt/sour cream* ... not very authentic, but very tasty
*the runny sour cream we get in the UK is not like the American kind, Greek-style yogurt is more like it in texture, & it's cheaper0 -
A quick question for you...
I haven't read the whole thread (I really need to get on with some jobs) but as a veggie I wondered if there were many veggie recipies in the book?? Don't want to buy it to find there are only two or three...

Just flicking through my copy, seems quite meaty so far!
There is veg curry and tarka dahl in the indian section, I guess you could vegify the chinese chow meins/szechuan.
Theres a couple of vege pastas (mac cheese & garlic cream fettuccine you could leave the bacon out of).
A few non-meat sides/starters, the breads, rices and salads/sauces should mostly be ok, as should pancakes & drinks/desserts.
You could possibly vegify more of the main meals but as a rabid carnivore I have no experience of this.
If you do buy it, I would flick past the first 30 (of 170) pages, as it's all maccy d's & kebabs.

I went to Tesco's last night for lamb mince to make the kebab recipe. They have now increased the price from £1.59 to £2.09. Must have noticed they are selling a lot more. I know everything is going up at the minute but it must be around 32% increase.0
