Thanks Anguk and Meritaten for the Warburtons buns info.
And thanks Swan and Littlemissmanics, so pittas are worth the effort of baking them, will def give them a go, can't believe I'll manage to get them to puff up and have the magic pocket tho
I make my own, too, and agree with Swan and Littlemissmanics - I will never buy them again
They will puff up and they are really yummy.put in freezer for an hour, then snaps chunks off and bake

Thanks for this flea - after it had been in the fridge for 2 hours it had stiffened up enough for me to slice, but next time I think I will cut them into rounds after a couple of hours in the fridge, then freeze them. They were gorgeous
Even if I do say so myself

I made the chicken pakoras for the first time last night, they were delicious excpet for the fact I could taste the sunflower oil from frying...probably because a) I hate the stuff! and b) I very rarely eat anything deep fried so am more likely to notice it!!0

if you can taste the oil, it wasnt hot enough - the outside of the food needs to seal as soon as it hits the fat, as then it doesnt absorb the fat, and give the food a greasy flavour
tbh vegetable oil isnt that great for getting hot, you should be using peanut or sunflower, as it can go to higher temps

I made the cookies and they were AMAZING!
I will always have the means to make these now so yummy, I found it really crumbly to slice so threw the full thing into a dish and cooked it, once cooled cut it in squares so they're not cookie shaped but still.Credit Card: £796 Left/£900 October 2011 :eek:Store Card: £100 October 2011

Hiya
Someone mentioned this book to me, I was just wondering if it had many veggie recipies? I'm looking for a good pizza recipe and this book seems just the thing0 -
Got mine in the post today and then dropped it in the bath

Will it still be readable once dried out?0 -
Haven't read all of the thread yet but decided to take the plunge and order the book from Amazon (£3.96). Have to say I'm impressed with Amazon as I ordered the book on Thursday (3.3.11) using Free Super Saver Delivery and it arrived this morning!!! Looking forward to making the Doner Kebabs and busy making my shopping list now.Growing old is unavoidable. However, growing up is still optional.0

Made the doner again last night but we had it whilst it was still warm instead of leaving it to go cold before slicing it.
Only two of us eat it and we got 3 kebabs each (2 last night, one for lunch today) using large pittas from Aldi, we usually get at least 10 from it when the meat is sliced cold on the slicer.0 -
I'm making sweet and sour chicken balls, egg fried rice and char sui pork for tea tonight - I love it!Sealed Pot Challenge #817 £50 banked
