I made the Garlic cream fettuccine with bacon and mushrooms It was fab and simple to prepare!! I doubled it as i was unsure of the portion sizes and there was plently for the 2 of us for dinner and there was left overs for packed lunch the next day.

Also made the meatball sub - I wasnt overly impressed by this but OH says it was really similar to subway.

    Garlic bread is delicious

The chocolate cheesecake is so simple and tastes gorgeous definately a hit in this house!!

Now I've never liked curry, but when I made The Traditional Chicken Curry for hubby and son the other week, I had a couple of forkfuls and was pleasanty surprised, so much so that I actually fancied a curry this week! Made it again and loved it! :D
 Ageing is a privilege not everyone gets.
  • I did the tandoori chicken this week and it was lovely, you do need some dip or chutney with it as its a bit dry on its todd as I did it with rice but would defo do again.

    I've been Money Tipped!
I made the garlic bread for the first time last night and it was really tasty.

I must we don't often have garlic bread but in the past I have just mixed some butter with minced garlic, cut slits in a baguette and pushed butter into the slits.

This time I bought a small cheese topped baguette, 30p in Tesco, cut it into seperate slices so ended up with 8 decent slices and made it that way.

The butter goes quite a long way because of the added oil so it made quite a lot compared to just using butter and garlic.

I had a bit of the kebab meat left over when I made it, so I froze it - I added about a tablespoon of stock, as I thought it would maybe be a bit dry (tend to leave stuff in freezer a while), and its even tastier second time round. I bought a cheap electric meat slicer and it worked really well. Its a bit like when you buy the wafer thin ham, there is more surface area, so you seem to get more flavour per mouthful IYSWIM
  • I keep meaning to try more from the book but today it's my favourite sweet n sour chicken in batter with fried rice.

I am so pleased I found out about this book from you lovely people!

    So far I've made

    Icecream
    Tortillas
    Fajitas
Pizza sauce (better than my normal one)

    and they've all been excellent.

In fact, the ice cream is so good that ice cream making has become a bit of a hobby. I'd highly recommend it with peppermint flavouring! I don't even have an ice cream maker but it's so easy to get it out and churn it every 40 mins if you're at home.

I've now made up a load of the fajita flavouring so I can just use it when need be.

Highly recommend the book to any doubters!
Must get organised and rejoin grocery challenge!
  • I have bought the book but it hasnt arrived yet - it isnt so much for me, but more for OH who likes hot n spicy foods. I am hoping that the doner meat will be a sucess as this would replace a lot of takeaways.
