The first thing I am going to try is the donna meat. If I make the full amount (feeds 3-4) do you think it will be ok to freeze half (unsliced) of it?MAR GC £92.43 / £100 NSD 16 / 31

I found the donner meat only made 2 kebabs and a leftover little kebab.....and the pitas weren't even that full of meat either!
Maybe I'm just greedy0 -

You really only need one third kebab meat to two thirds salad on your kebab, we do anyway, that way we get 3 each and enough left over for lunch the following day.
Mind you, I do use a mandolin type slicer to get the meat really thin, that way it looks like you have a hell of a lot more meat on there.0 -

I froze it however sliced it first and laid the pieces flat in a freezer bag (wont take as long to defrost and just take out enough thats needed)
tasted just as nice0 -
I was thinking of using a potato peeler to slice the doner meat in long strips like in the takeaways, will this work do you think?0

I found the meat too soft for my potato slicer - ended up using a knife instead.

i think you'll find enough to sell off to be able to get it!!
I definitely want it! I'm addicted to recipe books, although I do have a tendency to read a recipe and then try and remember it when I get to the kitchen.... with interesting results :rotfl: Might have to physically have this one in the kitchen with me!
Luckily today I remembered it's actually my birthday in less than a week and OH asked a while back if there was anything I wanted, so might have it sooner than I thought
As for Ebay, I think I must have a phobia or something.. it's been months since I sorted out all the stuff and I've still not done it
I should really stop reading threads and get on with that!Paying off CC in 2011 £2100/£1692

I really need to try new recipes from the book. Think I'll have a look later and see what I need and throw it onto my online shop.0
